No name change for me. I’ve filed it under Can’t Be Arsed.

My gob is totally smacked by the Reform thread.

itsgettingweird · 04/07/2024 19:47

Absolutely.

I'm a massive swing voter.

I sit very centrically in my thinking. This has made me vote LD in the past.

I vote for whatever i think is best for the country at the time. Do I always get it right? No! But that's why I'm not wedded to a party - so next time I go in with an open mind and vote again for what I thinks best.

Both ds and I have been to out our x in the box this evening.

I want to GTTO but more so GBO Wink

Yep. I’m willing to admit I got it wrong when I voted Tory in 2010.

LD might be the only party I’ve ever voted for twice. I have voted for the same independent candidate twice. This is the first time I’ve ever voted Labour in any election.

Cheguevarahamster · 04/07/2024 19:55

Good evening all. Having a few people over so won't be in here too much. Probably later. Making cocktails for the event. Here's my "Metropolitan elite" See you all later xx

Going to change my name to "Rishiatemyhamster"

Thread 53 Sunak: Superminority!

Artist formerly known as fabio12 here.

I just saw this thread (anyone know why there is a perma-tick by Conservative?) which could be interesting to keep an eye on, or become full of bridge dwellers, who knows. https://www.mumsnet.com/talk/general-election-2024/5111680-i-voted-exit-poll

I voted - exit poll | Mumsnet

Our final election poll. The exit poll. When you have voted please select who. Thanks to everyone who has participated.

Thank you so much for the name change responders!

Finding Andy Murray and Jamie Murray playing doubles together at Wimbledon a nice distraction.

Dh and I just saying it's almost worse seeing people you think of as young looking old (er) than seeing your own self looking decrepit. 😬

Evening all, it's me DuncinToffee

OP posts:
OutdamnHunt · 04/07/2024 20:12

Less than 2 hours to go! I have tidied the apartment, we have been for a walk. Opened the wine now and sitting on terrace hearing people enjoy live music, play games and generally not being anxious Annies like we are. DC called, they have voted (first time) and complained that we hadn't warned them there might be a queue.

That is interesting! It has the same tick next to Con for me and I begrudgingly clicked Lib Deb [sic] despite the spelling

TimeForRishiByeByes · 04/07/2024 20:17

The tick is to confirm your selection. I chose the green party even though I voted labour and got the tick.

TaraTories · 04/07/2024 20:20

Oh, I can move the tick by clicking on it afterwards on the thread header. Well, something new and pointless for today achieved.

Saucery · 04/07/2024 20:20

TimeForRishiByeByes · 04/07/2024 19:09

Tbf, there are hardly any FWR regulars on that thread and the ones who are, are not promoting Reform as any kind of protest vote.

ZonderRishi · 04/07/2024 20:33

This is such a long evening. At least it's given me chance to read this thread!

KatPurrson · 04/07/2024 20:34

Well that was a nice nap. Caught up with the thread, had a snack (pa amb tomàquet) and about to fit in couple of episodes of The Bear before the exit poll.

En avant!

Lalgarh · 04/07/2024 20:35

FWR??

Voted. No queues at 7.30pm. I guess that means average or low turnout. Approx 8 lib dem posters to 3 Labour in houses I walked past. 1 solitary big placard for the Tory incumbent AND they are Young Conservatives.

There was also another house that previously had a Reform poster that had taken theirs down by today.

I've got chai on the go plus Oreo wafers , honey roasted peanut 🥜 and some Magnum Euphoria

TheInvisibleMann · 04/07/2024 20:43

Killing time now. Am going to have a shower in a bit and get my comfies on. Dying for a glass of wine but it'll make me sleepy too early. Might have to whip up an espresso martini instead.

That thread is scary. I posted a little but not going to bother further.

PS IClaudine is my usual name!

Jeezus. Scrimping on the details to the end 🙄
Although to be fair my quite posh mum would have said he is trying to be more "like a common man" to the people with this statement, in hindsight. Still, you have to appreciate the vagueness that tempts some to wonder if he'd commit the arch sin of eating tuna at work...

Escentricmolecule · 04/07/2024 20:55

I'm new to these threads so no name change for me.

Just over and hour to go!!!!!

VoteOutToHelpOut · 04/07/2024 20:57

I wasn't going to have anything to drink until 10, but god I may need a snifter!

No Braverman on there Sad

I'm not hopeful we'll kick her to the curb but I'd like to know what time to expect the announcement in my area!

Rishiispushed · 04/07/2024 21:02

Aww, I am watching Andy Murray. I adore him but am assuming he'll stop talking before 10pm...
