He's miles behind his peers, he has next to no head control, he can't sit without support, he's nowhere near being able to walk. He is preverbal and he is very much in his own world but BUT he is beginning to smile when he means 'Yes please, I'd like to do that" and that is a huge, huge step for him. Huge.

Fantastic. Well done to him 💕 delighted for you too, OP!

BlackFriYay · 28/06/2024 21:55

I'm so happy for you 🥺

We have a severely autistic son whom we thought would never speak, I damn near shot through the roof when I heard him speak for the first time (years later than all of his peers)

He's still in nappies at 6.5 and may never be fully independent but I'm proud as hell of all his milestones.

So i totally get it.

Bask in that amazing moment and all the warm fuzzies it has given you.

Well done to your clever little guy ♥️

sendismylife · 28/06/2024 21:56

How wonderful! Such a precious moment, when our children realise that communication is possible. You must be so proud (and rightly so)!
