What milk do the adults in your house drink?

Assuming those of you with children buy full fat for them, what do the adults have and why?

I buy skimmed (cos I'm always on a diet and prefer it in tea) but I'm tempted to swap to semi skimmed.

Semi skimmed. Children over 2 don't need full fat milk.

soupfiend · 23/06/2024 12:54

No children in the household, we drink full fat, or jersey milk. although I have a pint of semi skimmed open in the fridge today, the tea seems too weak with full fat

AmelieTaylor · 23/06/2024 12:56

I don't 'drink' milk as such, but I 'use' whole milk for coffee/cooking, I don't mind the 'green' one (semi skimmed)but find the 'red' (skimmed) is a bit pointless, might as well just have more water!

Full fat milk as we have a dd with an eating disorder

Coconutdreamer · 23/06/2024 12:57

Semi-skim for the adults and Arla Big Milk for DS (which dietician approved as he’s an extremely fussy eater).

GigiAnnna · 23/06/2024 12:58

Skimmed as I'm always dieting and I'd rather save my calories for something else. I only have it in tea and coffee but I drink those a lot and I don't like it to taste creamy. I'll drink semi skimmed if I have to and I buy full fat for the kids as they like a cup of milk before bed.

Marmite27 · 23/06/2024 12:58

Skimmed

FLOWER1982 · 23/06/2024 12:59

Whole milk for coffee

Viewfrommyhouse · 23/06/2024 12:59

Full fat. None of us drink milk as such, but for tea, coffee and cooking, always full fat.

Gatecrashermum · 23/06/2024 12:59

Oatmilk

Even for cooking. It makes a good bechamel

WhereAreWeNow · 23/06/2024 13:00

Whole milk (everyone else) and soya milk (me)

Putyoursunscreenon · 23/06/2024 13:00

Always full fat here

JurassicClark · 23/06/2024 13:00

We have semi skimmed, skimmed and oat milk.

PTSDBarbiegirl · 23/06/2024 13:00

1 drinks full fat by the gallon.
1 drinks lactose free full fat dairy.

Sadik · 23/06/2024 13:01

Full fat non-homogenised - if I'm going to have milk, I want it to be proper!

liveforsummer · 23/06/2024 13:02

I buy full fat because I like it creamier, not because I think the dc need it - tbh they rarely have milk anyway so type is irrelevant. I couldn't drink or have skimmed milk in cereal but can hair about put up with semi

Icanttakethisanymore · 23/06/2024 13:02

We all have full fat. Even full fat is not high in fat (only 4%), none of us is struggling to control our weight and full fat has more fat soluble vitamins. Plus I can’t be doing with buying different types and we have young kids.

Remmy123 · 23/06/2024 13:03

Full fat organic milk for all of us including children my kids are slim so need full fat

Topseyt123 · 23/06/2024 13:03

Semi skimmed. We also gave that to the children once they were over two.

My three DDs are in their twenties now and two of them prefer oat milk when they are here. Or soya.

Bungalowhouseflat · 23/06/2024 13:03

Me and dd (teen) skimmed milk.
Dc 1 and 2 (teen/ young adult) semi skimmed- one because needs to maintain weight and other because apparently skimmed tastes like water!

PinkTonic · 23/06/2024 13:04

Semi for general use, full fat if I want to make a bechamel or cheese sauce, and gold top in the winter for my porridge.

CissOff · 23/06/2024 13:05

Semi skimmed here - for all of us. Skimmed is too watery and I really dislike full fat in tea. Those globules on the top 🤮

ohpoowhatnow · 23/06/2024 13:05

Full fat always

Daftasabroom · 23/06/2024 13:05

Soy, coconut, rice, oat, whole milk

Isabelle70 · 23/06/2024 13:05

Full fat Guernsey milk only in this household. I think we have the most expensive milk at £1.78 a litre but it's good stuff!
