Same three way split here of red, yellow, green but I only did the short version. I'll do the longer version later.

I am 33.3% for Labour, Lib Dems and Green! Good job I’m not currently undecided (and trusted Lib Dems once, got screwed over, Davey is an arse, so…nope) Grin

See, now I love Ed Davey. I think he's wonderful.

I notice none of us has suddenly found out to our horror that we are actually a Tory!

IClaudine · 23/06/2024 09:04

Or Reform!😱😱😱

TaraTories · 23/06/2024 09:05

Mine was two thirds lib and one third lab so I'm happy enough with my vote.
I strongly feel social care is pivotal in NHS, womens and economic policies and intend to stick to that https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/articles/c511ew07jwgo

Patient and carer

Social care: Those at sharp end want politicians to talk about it

In England, the care system is struggling but the main parties have steered away from detailed plans.

I see Gove is comparing Gamblingate to Partygate in The Times this morning. Now he’s stepped down he really doesn’t give a shit.

I did The Telegraph’s little quiz on Friday. It covered four different policy areas. I came out Labour on two, Green on one and Reform on one. The Reform one was defence which I wasn’t really surprised by given that we’re a military family but it made Mr B laugh. He, the lifelong Tory voter, was one Green, two LibDem and Reform on defence. He’s still going to vote Tory though. The idiot.

prettybird · 23/06/2024 09:15

Can't do it as it doesn't include Scotland, which is "coming soon" Hmm a bit late for those already using their postal votes Hmm

Saucery · 23/06/2024 09:21

IClaudine · 23/06/2024 09:04

Or Reform!😱😱😱

Although I went into the options with an open mind I did find myself thinking “Ooof, that’s definitely a Reform option!” but if I’d agreed I would still have selected.

It’s more down to the fact that Lib Dems let me down massively on tuition fees, hounded out Tim Farron and were very self-serving and ineffectual in a neighbouring constituency where family and friends live @Piggywaspushed

Davey gives me the Ick due to his attitude to women who are gender critical (not his views, but the way he treats views opposite to his own) and using his child’s disability in this campaign. I know many admire him for his ‘honesty’ in doing that, but I would feel the same about any politician who used their children, let alone go into intimate details about them when they may not have capacity to consent to that. He didn’t even have the decency to catch something horrible when he fell into Windermere and neatly make a point about United Utilities woeful record with water cleanliness Wink

BIossomtoes · 23/06/2024 09:28

The Votes for Policies came out two thirds Green and a third Labour. No surprise there. In normal times, without GTTO and with a healthy economy, I’d be Green all the way now.

NoDishiForRishi · 23/06/2024 09:42

An even split on Lib Dem and Labour with a good chunk of green for me!

In an ideal world, I'd like to vote Lib Dem or green but where I live it's virtually pointless and I want the tories gone so Labour it is!

(Edited after fat finger accidentally posting). It's a thought though. If you could fillet out the policies individually you could crowd source policymaking

Cheguevarahamster · 23/06/2024 09:48

Watching Kuenssberg this morning. I got told off by my husband for swearing at the TV too much😂. Phillipson did a great job even when Laura spent most of the interview stoking culture wars.

According to a poster closely allied to FWR it was a car crash. I’m off to watch it now and make up my own mind.

Davey is the only politician I've heard articulate the same worry I have - what happens to my disabled child after I die? That fear is overwhelming, it is what keeps me awake at night.
So any politician with first hand experience of life as a carer is valuable to me. Particularly parent carers because I think that brings a different set of problems & stresses to caring for spouse or parent. It's actually very difficult to discuss personal experiences of caring without discussing the needs of the individual being cared for - they shape the care needed.

DuncinToffee · 23/06/2024 10:07

Short survey also gave me 33.3% for Labour, Lib Dem and Green

Sounds right Smile

I was aware that some of the policies I chose were a bit pie in the sky, but in an ideal world...

Yeah I felt the same. Some policies overlapped and was torn between "I think this and it's realistic" and "I like this but know that one statement is in an ideal world and probably not deliverable"

I still went for the latter because ** I dream of that ideal world Grin

pointythings · 23/06/2024 10:16

I come out two thirds Labour and one third Lib Dem. Reform and Tories easy to spot if you keep up with the news.

2/3 Lab 1/3 Green here.

That’s perfectly understandable @Notonthestairs and I’m in no way dismissing the valid worries of carers. I just don’t like any politician using their children, for any reason. Cameron, Rees Mogg, Johnson, Sunak……nah, I don’t want to see your dc, I want to know what you are going to do for everyone’s dc. Take advice and canvas opinion from those living daily with the consequences of disability, poverty, sociodemographic issues and the professionals supporting them, but don’t use your own.

user8800 · 23/06/2024 10:37

I'm a carer

No one gives a crap

And I don't expect that to change tbh, no matter who gets into no.10

Carers allowance is pitiful and the dwp IT systems not fit for purpose

It's just not worth the hassle and worry doing extra "paid" work. I did some last year and one week I went £4 over the weekly limit and I got a letter and had to have a phone interview - not my error btw, an error from my employer accounts dept.

Plus, I found it really hard doing both things. I'm over 50 and feeling it.

I absolutely agree @Notonthestairs

I also lie awake at night worrying about what will happen to my DH if I die first. That fear must be so much stronger for you for obvious reasons.

There are lots of families like us out there, trying to live our lives, despite all the difficulties and despite the fact our needs are often ignored. Sometimes it is very isolating and hard. Tears are shed.

So, I appreciate what Davey did to highlight the difficulties of disabled people, their families and their carers.

God, sorry, that sounded like a right pity party! We actually are lucky in lots of ways and have a nice life, but some days it is hard.

Notonthestairs · 23/06/2024 11:00

Not a pity party at all! I am very grateful for my life and my family. I am (we are) very fortunate in many ways.

I just want to see people with first hand knowledge of the shoddy system and our very real fears in government. I know Labour have a few people with that kind of experience. I want to see them use it.

SerendipityJane · 23/06/2024 11:01

If you can't win an election, then next best thing (looks to US) is to ensure it loses legitimacy.

I wonder if if Farages little Putin lovefest is intended to prevent Reform getting too many votes. They probably have much more use as a disaffected "you can't trust The Man" sort of outfit than if they win a handful of seats that can't do anything,

Watch this space.
