We are getting to see conservative integrity at first hand.

We’ve seen that for quite some time.

Remember Paterson?

More betting at Tory HQ. From the Times - not online yet.

🚨 BREAKING: The Tories' chief data officer is now under investigation by the Gambling Commission after allegedly placing dozens of bets on the election date

If it's the chief Data Officer for the Tories being alleged to have offended, this could likely trigger an investigation by the Information Commissioners Office. If so, they have the power to levy fines. Really big fines.

I think a lot of Tory seats will go to Reform. Friend in Sevenoaks said 2 dads at the DC's sports were telling her it's because of "resources". Could be interesting.

But how though @TaraTories?

(And sorry, I have more questions)

And how many is "a lot"?

Like, 4?

What the heck does "resources" mean?

And what do two dads in Sevenoaks know that the polling and politics industry doesn't?

IClaudine · 23/06/2024 06:31

I don't think Reform will win a lot of seats. Zero to 5 (at the very most) is my prediction. I think some Tories who may have been planning not to vote will go out and vote Tory after Farage's remarks.

IClaudine · 23/06/2024 06:35

DuncinToffee · 22/06/2024 23:25

What does that even mean?

I think I know what "because of resources "means. Those nasty furriners taking our houses, using our NHS etc. The usual rascist rhetoric.

Agreed. On all counts.

If someone was planning to vote Reform Ltd because they mistakenly believed Nigel Farage was a patriot then they know better now. Putin’s Poodle has made his allegiances quite clear.

IClaudine · 23/06/2024 06:57

@TaraTories were the two Sevenoaks dads planning to vote reform themselves?

I assumed it was a reference to where in Russia Farage was getting the resources from for his company's political campaigning.

Oh! Sorry if I got the wrong end of the stick @TaraTories !

Piggywaspushed · 23/06/2024 07:23

I just did Vote For Policies and came out 60 % Lib Dem and 30 % Green. The only Labour policy I apparently liked was Crime. I do know I was wavering between LD and Green for lots of things.

I know I am more left wing than most so this probably does show that LDs have moved left.

itsgettingweird · 23/06/2024 07:35

Yes I agree the LD seem to have shifted further left than Labour.

Conservatives are still described as a centre right party but I wouldn't agree they have any centre ground as they are now.

Labour always described as Left wing but definitely have shifted towards the centre which I guess was always going play against LD who were the centre party in descriptive terms.

That's why I've voted across all parties in the past as I'm a pretty centric voter and generally go with manifestos. Our LD party are doing well here and equal with Labour behind the Tory's. I'm considering if I need a tactical vote as could vote LD as they do align with many of my preferences and beliefs.

I do think July 5th will be extremely interesting.

DuncinToffee · 22/06/2024 23:25

What does that even mean?

Sorry, I had a bad pain day yesterday and was a bit off my tits Blush
My friend had been talking to 2 dads who were both going to be voting Reform because they are worried about resources - NHS/housing etc- and stated that the candidate there was a solid guy who understood the local problems because Farage lives at Downe and had hand picked him. Neither of them are poor and one certainly sends his children to private schools.

When I said seats I meant votes.

We are getting to see conservative integrity at first hand.

More like absolute stupidity (and greed) betting companies are there to make money and betting patterns are always looked at if they are going to lose the stuff.

its unbelievable that these people are so arrogant they thought they'd get away with it.

Reform are going to get an awful lot of votes & i suspect that will lead to seats.

Agree that Labour are not home an dry, undecided voters could well change the result very dramatically.

Tory lies on Labour "tax plans" are gaining traction and now the Tories are going for Labour "rejoining SM/CU" this will change voter minds.

Interesting take on the Rwanda policy by James Sunderland.

The policy is 'crap' but it's not about the policy, it's about the 'effect' of the policy. Of course he's backtracking like crazy now saying he was talking about the 'response' to the policy.

Keep digging lads eh? Grin

Spandauer · 23/06/2024 08:24

Well, I'm not sure what I am now - a canvasser's nightmare? But I'm definitely not Conservative! 😆

My results from the Votes for Policies survey.
(Still going to vote tactically in my constituency though)

Ha! That's classic!

itsgettingweird · 23/06/2024 08:44

I'm 42% green and 28% for both LD and Labour!

IClaudine · 23/06/2024 08:46

Edited as annoying long link, but I am Plaid, Lib Dem and Green. No Labour!

Piggywaspushed · 23/06/2024 08:48

No Labour for claudine!

IClaudine · 23/06/2024 08:50

I was aware that some of the policies I chose were a bit pie in the sky, but in an ideal world...

Piggywaspushed · 23/06/2024 08:53

What a wonderful world that would be.

Saucery · 23/06/2024 08:55

I am 33.3% for Labour, Lib Dems and Green! Good job I’m not currently undecided (and trusted Lib Dems once, got screwed over, Davey is an arse, so…nope) Grin
