Intimate photos on Mumsnet

Does anyone else find this concerning? My GP practise doesn't even allow genital pictures to be sent to them because of confidentiality and security.

I am also very concerned that there is a possibility of an alternative reasons these are being posted. Lots of posters have previously responded to these photos defending them by stating we should be allowed to ask women if we have problems that affect women. However as we are all well aware there are abusive men/women in the world. How do we know that the poster hasn't been forced to post these pictures or they have been posted without their consent? Without being too explicit there is also the concern of how old the actual person in the photo is.

Does anyone else think this or do you think posting intimate photos on a predominately woman's site justified?

Where can one find the arsehole pic.. asking for a friend 🤔

SpindleyDindley · 10/06/2024 23:31

This thread has made me crack up.

heartbrokenof · 10/06/2024 23:31

It's just an arsehole, we've all got one

Pixiesgirl · 10/06/2024 23:54

Yeah I don't think it's a wise or good thing, seems to creeped in lately, arseholes and flaps and discharge Envy] (not envy)

Pixiesgirl · 10/06/2024 23:59

What's next, not a how old do I look pic, how big are my tits, how neat are my pubes, just put it away and I literally don't click. I don't think it's in the spirit as the saying goes.

Pixiesgirl · 11/06/2024 00:01

Although the is that you UCM thread would have been more eye opening with pictorial evidence Hmm

I mean it’s not something I would do but it’s a random body part, anonymously. It doesn’t really bother me if it means people get the help they might not otherwise get in a medical sense.

Really? You wouldn't mind if mnet was hacked and your boss saw your giant piles? I suppose at least they'd know what to get you for Christmas if they drew you in the secret Santa.

buffyslayer · 11/06/2024 00:08

I'm on the app, it never shows sensitive content or blurred, the photo just appears

Ohhhthedrama · 11/06/2024 00:33

Surely you don't believe it's a picture of that posters asshole. Isn't it more likely a picture taken off the Internet to get a reaction?.

Snozzlemaid · 11/06/2024 00:53

I use the app and there was no 'sensitive image' warning or picture blurred, it was just there!

Floralnomad · 11/06/2024 01:01

If someone wants to ask a genuine medical question in the correct topic ( not in AIBU / chat ) I can’t see the problem , nobody makes you click on it and it is not as if they are encouraging other people to post pics to compare which would be an issue .

Did you not even have to open the thread itself with the title warning? That would be a bit shocking.

CanadianJohn · 11/06/2024 03:29

When I saw the arsehole pic, I thought it was too well done, too composed, perfect colorization, etc, and assumed it was taken from the internet. I was going to a reverse serch for the image, but never got round to it.

Pixiesgirl · 11/06/2024 03:45

Do people really think it's normal to post your fanny mucous on mumsnet? Cos that has been in a few posts.

BusterGonad · 11/06/2024 03:50

I cannot be outraged by someone posting a picture of their bum hole. If I don't want to see it I won't click on it, if some hairy handed weirdo wants to wank over it I doubt the poster of the bum hole picture will know or care, so long as the owner of the bum hole gets advice and help who actually cares? I cannot understand why those who are upset by it clicked on the thread. It was obviously going to be a picture of a sore arse hole.

Pixiesgirl · 11/06/2024 03:51

You can't possibly identify your outing hobby, but the content of gussets is fair game.

StarlightLady · 11/06/2024 03:53

Pigeonqueen · 10/06/2024 21:26

But why would you open the pic (because it was blurred with sensitive content on it) or even the thread if you are the type of person to be upset seeing an arsehole?

This. If a pic requires a click to view it the choice is yours.

Pixiesgirl · 11/06/2024 03:53

Appropriate name bustergonad, well y'know maybe curiosity killed the erm pussy.

Pixiesgirl · 11/06/2024 04:01

This place is utterly bizarre now. People are contrary for the sake of it. Enjoy you your arseholes I guess.

Don't be an arse!

LumpyandBumps · 11/06/2024 06:30

Missing the point completely I know, but I am a little impressed at the suppleness and camera skills of someone who can take a clear shot of their own arsehole.

I’m impressed by your dedication!

I saw a few post titles to do with piles and expressing apologies for tmi pics so I ignored them. I can’t imagine a time when I would take photos of my most intimate parts and upload them to a public forum.

KomodoOhno · 11/06/2024 06:47

Hotnamehere · 10/06/2024 21:27

i don't think MN should allow people to post intimate photos.

Agreed. If you have some situation you feel you need to show and ask about go to a medical website or better yet a doctor. Sometimes I think people get a kick out of being disgusting.

nobeans · 11/06/2024 06:48

I completely agree. When I send a photo to the gp I have to tick a box to say it isn't of various intimate parts of my body.
