I only just found out about Golden Kiwis, they are gorgeous.
I can’t stop eating them.

My mother told me about them, I had never even heard of them, I’m at the supermarket now and wondering what else am I missing out on??😁

Good cottage cheese - Longley Farm brand. Hadn't eaten it in years because of the horrible watery stuff from supermarkets. Tried some of the full fat Longley Farm on a cracker at a food fayre and it is delicious! I used it to make salad dressings, in sandwiches and on toast with hot honey. Delicious

I only eat Longley Farm cottage cheese, other cottage cheese is inferior
It's made locally to me and all of their stuff is delicious

I am trying to improve my gut microbiome and have come across Tempeh..... has anyone got a good tried and tested recipes? I have no idea what to do with it.

It needs to be marinaded as it can be quite dry. You can make a nice one from soy sauce, lime, a bit of maple syrup. Leave it for a bit then fry and have in a sandwich with some tomato and lettuce. Delish. Or treat like tofu and have in a stir fry with a sauce

I tried feta cheese for the first time last month, it is so good! getting through more of it than I probably should 😂”

Try it with watermelon and a little balsamic vinegar. Delicious!

This sounds lovely!

Mine is flat peaches. I can't remember seeing them until recently and they are delicious.

Kimchi. I eat it with a lot of things now. Great in a cheese toastie.

Im about to try making Kimchi bacon for lunch.

Margo2023 · 09/06/2024 13:17

@Mydogisagentleman James Martin did a fantastic 4 ways with celeriac not long ago. The soup was delicious

Margo2023 · 09/06/2024 13:19

Sabrosada, a tomato spicy paste I think it is Spanish. Lovely on sourdough topped with anchovies yum

TheCountessofFitzdotterel · 09/06/2024 13:20

Miso butter. Game changer for eating green vegetables.

Wingstop chicken wings - Mango Habanero flavour 😂Highly recommend if you like a bit of spice, bloody delicious.

Recently got into these too! I love the Louisiana and Korean flavours. And they deliver to my house which is dangerous. They also do amazing Churros with Biscoff 🩷

Tempeh Kering is delicious

Kering Tempeh Kacang (Spicy and Sweet Fried Tempeh and Peanuts)

Crispy fried tempeh and roasted peanuts are tossed in an incredibly delicious spicy and sweet sauce. It's hard to stop eating this kering tempeh kacang.

Ew I tried this recently and hated it. And I'm one of those people who will eat anything! I have a block left in my fridge and not sure what to do with it. DH refuses to eat it again! Wondering if I can somehow blend it in a smoothie.

Agree, Korean was really tasty. If you liked those but don't mind a bit more spice, try the Habanero, you won't regret it. I'm so glad they don't deliver to my house.
Hawaiian were rubbish, though.

Edamame (soybeans that are picked while green and unripe and then steamed, boiled, or roasted in their pods.)

KnitnNatterAuntie · 09/06/2024 13:58

Coronation mayonnaise. I love it on sweet potato fries ~ a wonderful combination!

I need you all to buy it, please, so it stays on the shelves 😂So many products I have tried for the first time and enjoyed have disappeared . . .

What's the difference between a kiwi and a golden kiwi?

One’s green and the other’s gold?

SunshineOnARainyDay3 · 09/06/2024 13:02

What's the difference between a kiwi and a golden kiwi?

The flesh is yellow rather than green. The skins are smooth, not hairy (maybe easier to eat though I still can't bear to). The flesh is generally sweeter and juicier than ordinary kiwis and they seem more reliably ripe.

I discovered them about a year ago and I must admit I buy them in preference to ordinary kiwis.

My recent 'discovery' is chia seeds. In fact, seeds in general. They are much easier to eat than I imagined.

Thegreatgiginthesky · 09/06/2024 14:02

On the subject of kiwis have you tried kiwi berries? They are even yummier than the golden ones.

Just sat eating a tub now - it really is heavenly stuff

MonsteraMama · 09/06/2024 14:04

Artichokes. I'd never eaten them before because they look like an alien sexual organ, but oh my god they're so good. I inhaled two packs of grilled artichokes last night during movie night while husband and daughter ate popcorn and looked at me like I'd grown an extra head.

Blacknailer · 09/06/2024 14:05

Also absolutely love the Longley Farm cottage cheese. No other brands compare, I wish it was easier to find (in London).

I've recently been making Fattoush dressing for salads with pomegranate molasses, lemon juice and sumac. Delicious, particularly with a salad of leaves, herbs, cucumber, pepper, feta, fried pitta and chicken. Lebanese recipe.

erlangshen · 09/06/2024 14:19

white strawberries ( from M&S) a couple of months ago, the taste is nothing special though.

I discovered golden kiwis in NZ 20 years ago and ate a lot while living there, they are much sweeter and smooter.

I also discovered while cherries 20 years ago in NZ they are my absolute favourite, but can only buy them here from M&S in certain times of the year and very expensive.

SmileyHappyPeopleInTheSun · 09/06/2024 14:25

Lemon salt - a Turkish brand - we were given it.

We are running low and DH tried Jamie Oliver Lemon and Thyme salt - way too much thyme not enough lemon. So on the look out for it but it's proving hard to find.

notprincehamlet · 09/06/2024 14:39

Chestnuts - bought a packet of cooked ones at Christmas in the mistaken but honestly-held belief that I'd do something exciting with them over the holiday and they've been sitting in the cupboard ever since taunting me every time I reach for the coffee. Just made a mushroom and chestnut bourguignon and it's surprisingly not awful.
Alas kiwi and mango make the inside of my face fall off.

Had it in majorca.. it's like a soft chorizo. It was on toasted bread with honey drizzled over.

QwestSprout · 09/06/2024 14:52

Japanese sakura swiss roll. Easily one of the most delicious things (not just cakes) I've ever eaten. It doesn't look like much either so it surprises you.

Try it on a baked sweet potato with pickled red onions (Aldi does them in a jar or make your own).
