McDonald's no onions on top of burgers

purpleme12 · 08/06/2024 13:56

I got cheeseburgers recently
And quarter pounder with cheese

Only to find no onions on top anymore!
Apparently this is because they cook the onions IN the burger now so you might not see them on top!

But it made it taste completely different and really dulled the nice taste for me and has completely ruined it

Does anyone actually prefer it this way?!

@MrsSkylerWhite I wonder if it varies from the different franchises ?
Maybe the manager of the one your child works in just really can't stand the smell of onions 😂

PMPBlue · 10/06/2024 11:07

So I read this thread on Saturday, and got a hankering for a cheeseburger.

Got one that afternoon, and can confirm, it did still have diced onions on it. Granted, they had a slightly 'dirtier', cooked appearance, and were (get this) ON THE UNDERSIDE OF THE BURGER 😱but definitely present.

ilovepixie · 10/06/2024 11:11

No onions in the burger here! They are on top and can be removed.

Maybe. Though the Hat Trick definitely has onions.
All I know for sure is that I fancy a cheeseburger now 😁

Needmorelego · 10/06/2024 11:32

@MrsSkylerWhite I really want a quarter pounder with cheese right now 🍔
I'm trying to cut down.
This thread isn't helping......😂

I literally just had a quarter pounder and there were onions on top as usual.

Same here!

Same here!

Double (Mc)Same 🤣

Annoyed as I usually remove the onions on a quarter pounder and forgot to. Tsk.

AffIt · 10/06/2024 19:46

McDonald's is utter bobbins now, and I say that as somebody who used to LOVE a McDonald's.

All this waiting around while they cook them to order etc - just bring back the pre-cooked slidey thing.

And put more salt on the chips. I'm not there for a spa break, FFS, of course I know it isn't good for me.

When I messaged saying others are saying their McDonald's in other places have still got the onions on top so what's going on

They didn't respond to that!

Finally, a thread I can get on board with 😁

Yes I don't like the cooked onions thing either. Or the chewy sweet new bread. I especially hate that you're forced to buy condiments now, if you have the audacity to not be a big fat guzzling pig and just buy 1 or 2 items. Especially as the sauce, if the burger contains it, is just a tiny smear so obviously you're going to need more.

I do like a quarter pounder and so far the raw onion in it still exists? I'm prepared for it to disappear in the near future though.

JovialNickname · 10/06/2024 20:34

Also. A tangent but it's important 😁

Why the fuck have they introduced the Hat Trick for SEVEN POUNDS (in London) when under their mix and match deal, you can get get 3 cheeseburgers for £3? Deconstruct and assemble people!!

Surely it's a full meal that's £7 and not just a burger ?

ChaoticCrumble · 10/06/2024 21:34

I had two burgers at the weekend and they definitely tasted like onion was in as opposed to on them. Even up close it looked like it! The cooking method must really squish them in.

Maybe it's a new job, a McDonalds onion burger squisher!

It's £6.29 in my local McDonalds for hat trick burger only (London) 😪 admittedly that's not quite £7 though so you're right!

Cookerhood · 10/06/2024 21:44

Have none of you seen the advert saying that the onions are now cooked with the burger.
I've seen it countless times & I don't even eat McDonald's!

purpleme12 · 10/06/2024 21:59

No I haven't seen it

Needmorelego · 10/06/2024 23:10

@JovialNickname the 3 for £3 ends tomorrow 🙁
I wanna know when we are getting the new Happy meals. You can get strawberry milk cartons with them apparently (I heard it's a trial "up north").

purpleme12 · 10/06/2024 23:31

Oh interesting

Mind you I don't know why I'm getting excited, my child stopped getting full up by happy meals years ago 😂

OP posts:
Needmorelego · 10/06/2024 23:34

@purpleme12 I have been known to buy myself two happy meals because happy meals are the only way you can get fish fingers and 3 just isn't enough 😂
(although they're being changed to fish bites in these new happy meals)

purpleme12 · 10/06/2024 23:41

ah what, another change!!

OP posts:
Needmorelego · 10/06/2024 23:53

@purpleme12 this is the new stuff in the happy meals.
Now I must stop talking about Maccyds and go to sleep 😴

iv just had a Big Mac and it was the raw onion not cooked on the patty ? I wonder if other things are the same or was it a one off I really hope it’s not cause it makes it much better when it’s raw x
