I don't smell down there but would like to feel fresher during the day.

What does everyone else use ?

But yes-it's pure misogyny. Tell women their bodies are smelly, leaky, dirty- then sell them a product to fix it.

I am pretty sure that for those of us using intimate shower gels, it actually says 'use me so you don't get bad thrush that you would 100% get with any other product'

You are extremely lucky not to need it 😉

Gosh no way.. it's very bad for you.
Wash your groin area and bottom area with soap/ shower gel.. but your vulva only needs water ... or if you must aqueous cream is fine.

Sure, whilst on my period I will only use water to clean myself 🫡 that is smart!
No wonder there's so many smelly people everywhere.

Does "delicate vulval skin" have a "unique ph value" that needs to be "balanced"?

Obviously washing is essential, and people should use whatever product they want. But I hate the way companies home straight in on women's insecurities and market directly at them.

Yes, it does actually. Vulval skin is more delicate than normal skin, and if you disrupt the pH balance that’s when you get changes to the microflora which can mean thrush or BV. That’s not an insecurity, it’s recognition of how the body works.

I like their soap bars.

Ok..?

CurlewKate · 08/06/2024 12:16

Lynx is marketed to men in an obnoxious, but often funny, way. Very different to the way femfresh is marketed to women.

As I say, use whatever products you want. And I am sure there are women who are sensitive to ordinary unscented shower get and soap who find it a help. But it's not a necessary product for most women and it won't make you "fresher".

Rosecoffeecup · 08/06/2024 12:18

I've used the aerosol when at a music festival, definitely made me feel fresher during what was a few unsanitary days

I use normal shower gel all over, just water wouldnt cut it. Never had thrush or BV.

You said no-one needs to wash in Dettol, I said I liked their soap bars….no need for your thoughts and prayers for me!

Good for you that you like their soap bars, however I really don’t care. I’m simply stating the fact (not opinion) that regularly washing your body in antibacterial soap is unnecessary and damaging - do with that information as you please.

I will! Thank you for your input! I’ve lived to quite old age using antibacterial soap. Do with that information as you please.

Thoughts and prayers to your skin’s microbiome! Nobody needs to be washing in Dettol.

Thank you for your thoughts, but I promise it’s fine 🤣 I stay moisturised and oiled and probably do use it every other shower in winter when my skins a little more dry! They have personal hygiene products, I’m not lathering up in the neat Dettol which scared someone earlier in the thread 😊

Paninaro94 · 08/06/2024 18:32

The person who said they used Dettol
to wash actually clarified that they meant their shower gel/ soap range rather than raw Dettol earlier in the thread.

But has no one ever tipped a couple of capfuls of Dettol in their bath? It’s marvellous.
