I don't smell down there but would like to feel fresher during the day.

What does everyone else use ?

@boonana Spend time on public transport or event and you’ll see a lot of people really think body wash is only for the upper body!

@2pence "It's not misogynistic to say women need to wash. We do."

No. But it is misogynist to say that our bodies are uniquely disgusting and need special products to wash with.

But some of us do and actually want to use it. Whoop for you that you're always fanny fresh but not everyone is and water doesnt always just cut it. I'm very prone to thrush but when I use this I don't seem to get it. If I am a woman who wants to not smell down there and can't use soaps etc it's not misogynistic, just a personal choice.

You shower in Dettol????

Yes, would highly recommend their body products! I follow up with something moisturising after.

Unscented bar soap, water, and cotton pants. Nothing else.

It’s made me wonder if you could persuade men to use ‘cockfresh’ or something similar. I somehow doubt it.

🤣

the2andahalfmillion · 07/06/2024 22:48

I mean, if you want to use it, go right ahead.

I would never but it because I don’t like the marketing (the concept that women are not fresh) and because most cosmetic products are basically made of very cheap ingredients and I feel completely cheated.

pink tax, innit?

I don’t abide with soap as it is very alkaline but use a cheap PH neutral generic shower gel daily, we all do, no need for sex specific products.

RickyGervaislovesdogs · 07/06/2024 22:49

I just use my usual shower gel.
Intrigued, I looked at the range- there’s a whole range of products, wash, foam, wipes, powder, gel, deodorant - christ. I’d need half hour purely to wash my fanjo and possibly a larger bathroom. Who knew.

I agree though- on cockfresh…..

Yourethebeerthief · 07/06/2024 22:49

Why do people constantly repeat this line on Mumsnet:

Your vulva only needs water.

Where has this bizarre myth come from? It's your vagina, not your vulva. Your vagina doesn't need to be cleaned. No soap or douching inside. But the areas you can cup with your hand do need soap and water. You sweat around there for heaven's sake!

Some people are fine with whatever shower gels they like but an unscented, mild soap and water is best to avoid irritation.

You do need to soap up your vulva and labia majora. You don't need to be sticking any fingers inside, obviously.

I think femfresh is bullshit and would never buy it. However, I don't think this is what they're trying to say. They market their products as being good at maintaining correct PH balance to avoid thrush.

Same here, though I see some people are saying this gives them thrush

Mayhemmumma · 07/06/2024 22:57

I really like it, the daily wash. I'd not use soap as that would be too drying and sore.
I have a large skin tag and so daily butt washing is a must and I much prefer the freshness it offers beyond using just water elsewhere.

Amazing! I wonder what their sales volumes are.

ToppCock… brilliant

Teamarugula · 07/06/2024 23:02

I use the 0% sensitive one. I can’t use normal soap/shower gel in my groin area because it dries out my skin but the 0% femfresh or e45 wash are ok. I definitely wouldn’t recommend using something scented there, be it soap or anything else.

Thrush, UTI, eczema . I can't use even the plainest soaps these days. Even loo roll can cause issues.

I envy those that can.

WestSussexWitch · 07/06/2024 23:16

I use the wash everyday and have done for years, I use it to wash my vulva and bum, I’ve never had thrush or BV, I like it and I hate being dictated to by other women on how to wash. Each to their own.

Hoolihan · 07/06/2024 23:31

Can honestly say in my 49 years on this planet that I've never, ever smelt another woman's fanny through her clothes, in a recently vacated toilet cubicle or on a bus. Femfresh is the solution to a non-existant problem.

Me neither. People on here do talk bollocks.

Prawncow · 07/06/2024 23:47

No one said anything about not washing your bottom with soap/whatever! It’s about the skin that could never grow hair! The inner flaps!

It’s not bollocks. Maybe you can’t smell horrible smells but a lot of us can. I’m not saying people need to rush out and buy Femfresh etc; soap or shower gel is fine but peoples bits and bobs do often smell and it’s vile not to wash properly.

Paninaro94 · 08/06/2024 00:32

What’s the harm in using Femfresh if it works for you? It’s hardly propping up the patriarchy if a few women benefit from using it. As for just using water on your vulva? What? Are you getting vulva and vagina confused?

It's a totally unnecessary and harmful product
