PrettyFlyforaMaiTai · 05/06/2024 18:58

A Senior German detective has told a court that investigators had found emails on a Hotmail account used by Christian Brueckner that linked him directly to the Madeleine McCann case.

However, the detective was unable to share details of the evidence as it was 'related to the killing' of Madeleine. Brueckner, the prime suspect, is currently on trial in Germany for unrelated sex crimes.

I don’t want to know…absolutely sickening that this creature is still alive!
I think about her parents regularly and they were destroyed that day .
They didn’t do anything wrong apart from a bad call leaving her at the apartment.
As a parent who had children a similar age in the 90s/00s it was considered ok to eat very close to our apartment and regularly check. It was normal and never on our radar that a weirdo would steal our child.

They absolutely did do something wrong. Whatever happened to that child happened because they were negligent. It absolutely was not OK or normal to leave your child in an apartment alone on holiday in the 90s/00s. No way. I don't know anyone that did this. I don't know anyone thst wasn't horrified the McCanns did it on holiday.

Why would said emails he sent about MM be coming up in a rape case?

They can definitely do false 'alerts' though.

Yes they can. Especially if it fits the local authority narrative that there are definitely no child killers in the revenue-generating family tourist resort.

I hope that bastard stays in jail forever for what he’s done to those women, and I hope one day we find out what happened to Madeleine.

SloaneStreetVandal · 06/06/2024 00:21

He/it needs to never be freed. That poor little girl, it's just a different level of horrific, very upsetting.

This reaction that persists (whereupon people reduce the horror of it to gossip, and an excuse to brag about how they're better parents than the McCanns) is beyond sickening. The people who engage in it are fucking reptiles.

I totally agree with you on all counts.

@XiCi wasn't there something about the wardrobe as well? I go backwards and forwards on this case, but it has to be said that Kate McCanns book was very weird and inappropriate in places (not read it but seen some very odd quotes from reviews of it) which did make me think WTF about her. Abductions by strangers are pretty rare.

HollyKnight · 06/06/2024 00:37

Abductions may be rare, but robberies in tourist areas are not. It is crazy to leave your apartment unlocked, never mind leaving your tiny children alone in it.

My sympathy is for that poor child. I hope she gets closure and justice.

The wardrobe with the large tennis bag that went missing?
Yes I’ve read her book, I won’t repeat here what she said about that poor little girl’s private parts 😡

Agreed. I don't think I could repeat it here what Kate said in her book was hugely inappropriate and just downright weird.
The criminal profiler Pat Brown covers the evidence including cadaver dogs really thoroughly on YouTube. It's a real eye opener

I went to Portugal and Spain plenty of times as a child in the 90’s and 2000’s. We used to either sleep on a chair next to our parent under a coat while they had a drink or in the buggy- or we’d all go back together at 9/10pm. We were never left alone. I can’t believe anyone would think of doing that!

The cadaver dogs were brought in by the British police so the local authority had nothing to do with it

Oh I definitely agree. With them being doctors though you'd think they'd be extra vigilant about things like illnesses and accidents/fire etc.

@IDontSleepIDream I've not even heard about the tennis bag? I thought the dogs alerted to the wardrobe as well but I could be misremembering. Perhaps it was a theory that she could've been put in there temporarily. Was there a fridge they dumped too?!

Yeah I vaguely remember the quote and being shocked at the time. Just an incredibly weird descriptive thing to put in a book-supposedly for the twins to read too 😧

Sorry, but that was really not my experience. We were always extra vigilant when we were away with your daughter when she was that age, and she was never out of our sight. One of the pleasures in going on holiday is eating out as a family in the evening, and it would never have crossed my mind to leave my daughter behind, let alone without adult supervision, while we went out eating and drinking for the evening.

spanieleyes22 · 06/06/2024 01:02

It doesn't really seem to be the MO of Bruckner though to be interested in taking such a young child when he is on trial for rape ?

PlantDoctor · 06/06/2024 01:05

Regarding leaving the children alone, I worked at a family hotel in 2011, and one of the roles was watching baby monitors and alerting parents if their kids woke up. I didn't do that, partly because I didn't want the responsibility, but it was literally only monitored by very young adults from housekeeping who wanted to earn more money. I don't know if that type of service is still available anywhere (I was surprised it existed in after aftermath of Madeleine McCann's abduction), but if anyone does use it, just know that the people monitoring it are unqualified and potentially distracted by phones etc.!

Regardless of whether they killed her or not- I’ve always been outraged they never faced any sort of charge of child neglect. They abandoned their child, in a strange place to go and get pissed with their friends.

I lived above a pub when my daughter was born, I could have been up there in 30 seconds if necessary. But you can bet if anything terrible happened I would of got a lot more than they have ever faced 🤷‍♀️

I agree with you both.
Lets also not forget the strange washing of Cuddle Cat😐

DancefloorAcrobatics · 06/06/2024 01:26

Interesting that police have recovered evidence that Madeleine is dead from this vile man... Honestly, it could mean nothing.
There have been so many braking news in that case, it's difficult to actually believe anything.
I do hope they find out one day what really happened to her, but as it currently stands, we'll never know.

Have to say I completely disagree with this comment. My DD was 3 months younger than Madeline, I also had a son who was 2 at the time and would never ever have left either one of them alone in an apartment. It was not considered an ok thing to do then just as it isnt now. Not blaming the parents, they have suffered the ultimate price for their mistake but not on any planet would it be ok to leave such young kids alone.

This.

It absolutely wasn't normal to leave a toddler alone. It's negligence.

Smallone3665 · 06/06/2024 03:02

Brit coopers should be ashamed been out there for a while on all expensive paid work and the German police come up with all the answers.

Switcher · 06/06/2024 03:24

I'm afraid I hope that some other prisoners give him what he deserves.
