Madeleine McCann new evidence - BREAKING NEWS

A Senior German detective has told a court that investigators had found emails on a Hotmail account used by Christian Brueckner that linked him directly to the Madeleine McCann case.

However, the detective was unable to share details of the evidence as it was 'related to the killing' of Madeleine. Brueckner, the prime suspect, is currently on trial in Germany for unrelated sex crimes.

Haven't this poor family suffered enough for one poor judgment call? There has to be something wrong with anyone still putting the boot in after all these years. What they have been through is unimaginable.

Yes they have but apparently nobody wants to focus on the families of the victims that are currently facing this man in a court room for rape and child abuse offenses and instead focusing on what Kate and Gerry could or should have done.

I too had children of the same age at the same time and not in a million years would i or any of my friends or family have done what they did. Ever. Not for a minute.

I don’t think the police are “sitting on the emails”. They are probably building a stone clad case so that he will be found guilty. Can you be tried for the same crime twice in Portugal?! Imagine if they acted prematurely and he got off on a technicality.

If they get him on the current charges, he is behind bars which is 💯 where he needs to be, and they can find informants without him going on the run. It may not even just be madeleine, there may be lots of other victims 😔

will you leave a bike unlocked on a street? No because it will be stolen. this is just unfortunate rules of the world we live in, but it doesn’t make it ok to steal if the bike is unlocked. So please let’s stop talking about why they left the kid alone. The only guilty party is someone who took her away. Parents are victims as well here.

He does look a lot like the sketches, it's probably very hard to charge someone with murder without a body but the evidence they do have on him is damning. Poor Madeline, I hope the family finally get some answers. They made a stupid mistake but have paid in the worst way imaginable.

@itspreposterous he does and he looks like the person who raped woman and abused children in the same area too and they are the ones currently going to trial and seeing this man every day. The victims in court right now and the last few months are the ones that are effectively helping the McCanns but again nobody is talking about them instead.

I’m pretty sure we also had listening services in UK hotels too. I seem to remember my college friends working part time in quite a smart local place and being given that responsibility. Didn’t holiday camps offer babysitters too back in the day?

The comments about the police are unfair. The Met was asked to investigate by the Home Office which is why it's fully funded. The investigation is of no benefit to the force - in fact it removed one of their major investigation teams for several years.

I hope something comes of this as in the current court case with the actual victims of rape and child abuse facing him and them giving their evidence that can help in Madelines case.

I hope the German authorities do the right thing and give the parents and siblings answers they need. I can’t imagine the torture of not knowing what happened.

I feel like if a crime happens in a country you don’t live in the stakes are against you, and authorities just shrug it off as being a foreigner’s problem

It’s a cautionary tale…my reading of the case mentions police long suspected a pedophile ring in the area. When the parents showed up to dinner sans children whoever was watching them knew the children could be unattended. The room checking at predictable 15 min intervals made it more obvious. My children born in 98/01 were never left alone AT HOME definetly not a hotel or resort. It was not a common practice amongst parents I knew. The Mc Caans were being watched and unwittingly they provided a window of access. a tragedy to be learned from.

They can definitely do false 'alerts' though.

I totally agree. I do hope that they soon start to get some answers and some closure.
