I passed my driving test! I’m too embarrassed to tell people IRL so I’m telling MN

I’m 32 and feel a bit stupid telling people I’ve passed my test when most people do it as teenagers or early 20s. I’ve really lost confidence in myself over the years so I’m actually really pleased with myself for passing first time. I feel like I’m not completely useless for once. Please share your good news too!

Congratulations 🎉 🎉 🎉
Who cares you didn't do it in your teens? It's a great feat no matter how old you are!

Enjoy your new found freedom !! Hehe

Congratulations! You should share IRL, people like hearing good news.

Lonelycrab · 04/06/2024 23:06

That’s not something to be embarrassed about!

Congrats and enjoy🥳

Vivi0 · 04/06/2024 23:08

Congratulations! 🎉

I passed my driving test at 30 - there is nothing to be embarrassed about at all.

TheZenOne22 · 04/06/2024 23:09

Congratulations 🥳 celebrate it! That’s fab news! You shouldn’t be embarrassed as we all work to our own timelines!

I passed my test when I was 41 years old and I fully celebrated it - posted a pic the lot. So many people were chuffed for me. I’m sure they will be for you too if you share it.

Marghogeth · 04/06/2024 23:09

My husband passed first time last year at the grand old age of 49. I couldn't have been more proud. Well done, OP - shout it from the rooftops!

WindsurfingDreams · 04/06/2024 23:12

Ahh you should be super proud! I was 32 too when I passed ! It's far more common than you think to learn at a later age

Floralnomad · 04/06/2024 23:13

Congratulations 🎉

Goldenthigh · 04/06/2024 23:15

Congratulations! Definitely share your news IRL, friends will be delighted for you. I know lots of people who passed in their 30s, 40s, 50s!

bettybadger · 04/06/2024 23:34

Congratulations!!! 🥳🥳 Be proud of yourself! My DH passed when he was 40. No shame in doing things at different times in life.
Enjoy your new skill 😊

SofaSpuds · 04/06/2024 23:37

Good for you 👍 👏 🎉🥳
People in your life will be happy for you too though, don't be ashamed to tell them.

Chasingsquirrels · 04/06/2024 23:38

Huge congratulations!!!
Well done you 👏 👍🏻

raspberryberet7 · 04/06/2024 23:39

I was forty and thrilled!

Alphabet1spaghetti2 · 04/06/2024 23:41

Share it with everyone! That’s an amazing win. Really is good news. The driving test is hard. Driving is hard - like rubbing your tum and patting your head whilst trying to look behind you and stay facing forward! It’s hard! Be loud, be proud, be confident!!!

Are you my daughter? Although she is 28 soon.

She’s just passed but won’t tell any one - even her bf - because apparently he thinks she can already drive!

Massive congratulations though!

shellyleppard · 04/06/2024 23:43

Congratulations....it tooky mum 13 attempt to pas her driving test. Well done on getting your wheels x

Catsmere · 05/06/2024 00:14

Congratulations! Nothing to be embarrassed about. I passed mine at 57. Just squeaked through, it's great passing first time! It's also great (and I say this as a lifelong user of Melbourne's public transport) not having to rely on public transport anymore, especially given what I read of the state of Britain's.

Nat6999 · 05/06/2024 00:28

Congratulations, don't be embarrassed, I was 33 when I passed mine at the fifth attempt.

Whiskeyandkittens · 05/06/2024 00:36

Congratulations! Passed mine age 33 , I passed first time but it took me two years of lessons to get the courage to book my test!
Although looking back I don't think I told many people either, I just started driving to work (was in a small team at the time, they knew I'd been having lessons) and after a couple of weeks a colleague looked at me a bit strangely and said "Did you pass your driving test?"

DramaAlpaca · 05/06/2024 01:40

Well done!

My mother passed her test (first time) at 63. You're a mere youngster!

SammyScrounge · 05/06/2024 01:48

Well done A real achievement!
