After food shopping and a tough day at work, I couldn't be arsed to cook myself anything. DH had already fed himself and DC, and I didn't want what they were having.

So I've made myself a bowl of left over rice, lots of sugar and milk, heated it the microwave while I unpacked the shopping. Used to love this from my childhood, mock rice pudding. Yum!

Tinned ravioli. Got to be Heinz though, tried Aldi's own and it didn't compare.

Caspianberg · 31/05/2024 19:43

marmite and crisp sandwiches.

Min133 · 31/05/2024 19:45

cavernclub · 31/05/2024 19:47

Bovril on toast

Meringueatan · 31/05/2024 19:48

I've not had tinned ravioli in years. My favourite one is the cheese Tesco own. Might have to go buy some to see if it's still as I remember.

Mashed banana on toast, pek meat on toast, sandwich paste on toast, anything on toast really...

KikiShaLeeBopDeBopBop · 31/05/2024 19:59

I mean, I was going to say sausages & ketchup but...

Twazique · 31/05/2024 20:02

skips

Chellybelle · 31/05/2024 20:02

Wouldn't you have tinned rice pudding? Sometimes I have that as a meal when I can't be bothered. Or a thick layer of Heinz sandwich spread on white bread.

Cadela · 31/05/2024 20:02

Corned beef and sandwich spread sandwiches on cheapest white bread possible. My grandma used to make them for me after I’d promised not to tell mum as she was a whole grain, vegetarian no tinned stuff back in the 90’s.

She now happily feeds Dd loads of stuff out of tins which I do like to rib her about.

Mini Kievs

MrsAvocet · 31/05/2024 20:05

Baked beans with those little sausages of unknown provenance mixed in.

Boogiemam · 31/05/2024 20:09

Meat paste sandwiches on cheap white bread. Grim but satisfying.

TheDandyLion · 31/05/2024 20:10

Butterscotch Angel Delight with sprinkles.

FeltCarrot · 31/05/2024 20:10

Heinz beans and sausages.

Fleurty · 31/05/2024 20:25

Pasta bake with frankfurters and a crushed up bag of mini cheddar on top, bovril on white toast, and corned beef and pickle sandwiches

Ukholidaysaregreat · 31/05/2024 20:29

Strawberry angel delight!

DeanElderberry · 31/05/2024 21:10

I made spam fritters a couple of weeks back. probably hadn't eaten one for more than 50 years. Surprisingly nice!

It was Lidl own-brand spam-alike - I'd bought it early in Covid when stocking the store cupboard with all sorts of odd things seemed prudent.

TiredCatLady · 31/05/2024 21:16

Princes Chicken & Ham paste on buttered white toast and instant noodles (not at the same time).

I dearly wish they still made toast toppers - those were gourmet stuff.

No, I dislike tinned rice pudding.

I miss the cheese and ham one.

Toast Toppers!! I actually sent a very distressed email to them when Heinz stopped making them and they sent me out a box of 6 of what I assume was the last bits they had.

Better than winning the lottery that was!

TiredCatLady · 31/05/2024 21:33

@Meringueatan that was my favourite too.
