Crap foods from your childhood you still eat now.

After food shopping and a tough day at work, I couldn't be arsed to cook myself anything. DH had already fed himself and DC, and I didn't want what they were having.

So I've made myself a bowl of left over rice, lots of sugar and milk, heated it the microwave while I unpacked the shopping. Used to love this from my childhood, mock rice pudding. Yum!

I had a crisp sandwich today, first one in about 15 years! Salt and vinegar crisps, white bread. So good.

I had salmon paste tonight for dinner. 55p from Asda.

Although I had it on wholemeal sourdough toast with butter. I didn’t have sourdough as a child.

Salty and delicious.

Pasta ‘n Sauce tomato

Crispy Pancakes, though they are Bird’s Eye now instead of Findus. They still deliver painful burns to all areas of the mouth!

I tries spaghetti shapes a while ago, as I loved Alphabeti Spaghetti and Noodle Doodles as a child, but they now taste rank. I don’t know if my taste buds have changed or most probably, they have removed the sugar and added sweeteners to them.

Have you tried it with chicken flavour crisps? Or smokey bacon?

I had fish fingers a couple of days ago, for the first time in probably 50 years. I think I'll wait another 50 before doing it again!

Definitely a crisp sandwich on crap white bread with loads of butter.

Or chicken flavour super noodles.

I'm also partial to birds eye potato waffles with beans and cheese.

Whoever said Mini Kievs - I now need some!

i had a weird pang for corned beef sandwiches the other day … surprisingly ok with a bit of salad cream and just like I remember them when I was a child!

Spaghetti bolognese from a tin - must be Heinz (but I think they've messed with the recipe recently and it's not good any more).

Oven chips with grated mature cheddar, salt and loads of malt vinegar.

I love those milk bottle sweets that are covered in some sort of white powder!

Sweet and sour pot noodle.

Now I’ve got a hankering for a corned beef sandwich… Thick white bread and butter all the way.

I don't even eat meat but can remember salad cream and corned beef being delicious. In milk roll bread.

Pickled Onion Monster Munch. Mum disapproved as she thought the only proper crisps were Walkers Ready Salted.

We begged to differ. Especially straight after swimming, with some pocket money to spare (and old enough to be at the baths without mum and her puritan crisp ideas).

Tinned hot dogs, mashed into a sandwich with tomoto ketchup on the side to dip the crusts in 😁

I saw an episode of Abandoned Engineering about corned beef. It’s not that unhealthy. I love corned beef and pickle sarnies

Jars of salmon sandwich paste on white bread, preferably the crusts.
