What one do you choose?

I'm just curious.

For me it's always a sprinkle doughnut Grin I never really explore other options.

In season strawberry tart from local bakery or tipsy or wedding slice.

@SisterAgatha i wondered why it suddenly went a bit batshit with the queuing! They ended up with a complicated system where certain things were only available at a certain time, maybe it coincided with it going viral (i hadn’t realised it had!) - how annoying, although great for their business 😂

Never heard of a London cheesecake, I’m going to look into it, is it just like a regular cheesecake?!

Belgium bun. Wonderful!

Absolutely this!
Love a Belgian bun!

Also very keen on a blackcurrant tart (don’t see them very often) or a good custard tart.
Used to love cream cakes but the amount of cream makes me feel really sick now🥲
Got no independent bakers here anymore, all there is is Greggs😵‍💫

TheChosenTwo · 21/05/2024 23:25

Oh Christ that’s what all the talk of the coconut was about, the London cheesecake looks like an absolute abomination 😂

DoYouSmokePaul · 21/05/2024 23:25

Millefeuille 😍 Never to be eaten in public however

SheilaFentiman · 21/05/2024 23:31

If I'm home then lardy cake (Wiltshire thing) but I love carrot cake or bread pudding ❤️❤️❤️

An M&S apple turnover if still warm is lovely.
I remember the slabs of warm Bread pudding & the lardy cake & the rum babas from a particular bakery of my childhood in Whistable. My best friend & I used to take our pocket money there on a Saturday morning. Happy days.

Oh God your mention of Rum babas are giving me the horrors. Aged 14 we arrived in Italy in the middle of the night - starving. I thought I was biting into a bread roll. It was🤑I detest rum still.

ihatecoffee · 22/05/2024 06:12

An iced bun...the long finger type.
However I've not seen one in years as all the old fashioned bakeries seem to have disappeared. All we seem to have now are the incredibly sickly garish French style patisserie cakes

TwitTwoooooooh · 22/05/2024 06:21

Belgian Bun or a Toffee Yum - Yum 😋

Whatineed · 22/05/2024 06:24

If I'm in the UK then it's got to be one of those Belgian buns from Greggs with lemon curd inside. 😋

At home probably a Windbeutel with cherry filling, or a Cremeschnitte.

Now I want a cake. 🤔

A Viennese whirl or an apple doughnut for me!

I thought a Viennese Whirl was a biscuit.

Alainlechat · 22/05/2024 06:36

A London cheesecake, although don't see them as much these days.

I was just coming on to say this! Can't beat them!

distinctpossibility · 22/05/2024 06:43

@effoffwind they do mini ones now but it's a caramel doughnut every time for me. Maybe a cream slice at a push.

effoffwind · 22/05/2024 06:45

@RubieDubie @distinctpossibility 👋🏻👋🏻👋🏻

I'm doing SW just now so going to treat myself to not a mini one when I get to target 😂

Caramel one would be yummy I bet

CurlewKate · 22/05/2024 06:45

@FannyFifer "Fudge donut from Fisher & Donaldsons."

Coffee puffs!

Also, those little cream filled pastry cups, with coffee icing and a walnut on top.
