Something that's true no one would believe

so Something happened this morning that's so funny to me but I can't really say it to anyone because they'll think I'm nuts so I'll start.

i genuinely turned a corner in Lidl this morning and Tracy beaker was there (dani harmer) I'd heard rumours she had moved to my town but I wasn't sure. But no, sure enough there she was.

I won't say where just incase there's some odd balls super fans but there you go. Have you ever bumped into a celeb in an odd place or something happened that no one would believe?

Why would no one believe that?

sprigatito · 21/05/2024 15:05

Eh? She's a B list actor, not a unicorn Confused

Ah don't be a sour grape, I loved Tracey beaker as a kid so would get excited over this😂

sprigatito · 21/05/2024 15:10

@MyBigFatGreekSalad that's a fair cop. I am a sour grape

Why would no one believe that?

Because it's really random, and I don't live in London or anywhere that celebs (b,c or z list) tend to frequent. That's why it's strange to me, I've never seen a famous person in my life besides paying to go to concerts or shows

I bump into and talk to Jane Mcdonald all the time.
We both live in same area and same city.

crochetmonkey74 · 21/05/2024 15:17

I have one of these stories too OP but no one ever believes me- I can't put the exact person / place as it's become known as my story and it would be recognised but it's like this same sort of thing:

Imagine I saw Chevy Chase in my local market town Toby Carvery. It's similar to that.

My other one is that I saw the same celebrity on the same weekend at the same place 4 years in a row

UntiltheGirl · 21/05/2024 15:32

Honestly, OP, by far the oddest thing about this is that you think it's so strange and incredible you can't tell anyone you saw a TV actor in your local Lidl.

Actors also go shopping, you know. When I was pregnant with DS and living in north London, I used to see James McEvoy and Anne-Marie Duff (who were married them) in our local Sainsbury's all the time.

Tony from Dinner Ladies used to live on my street and was very fond of my dog.

I once got chatting to a vaguely-familiar but strange-looking American guy in WHSmiths about the quality of their wrapping paper. It dawned on me on the way home that it was David Gest.

In my younger days, I had one night stands and short-term flings with several very famous footballers.

Also in my younger days, I got myself invited to a VIP party with Will Smith. I didn't get near him because I called one of the security guys a cunt for being too touchy-feely.

Giraffes have the same number of bones in their neck as humans.

When I was growing up, my mum and dad frequented the same Indian restaurant and takeaway as Michael Burke and would occasionally chat while they waited for their food to be prepared 😂

Hoppinggreen · 21/05/2024 15:38

I have absolutely no difficulty beliveing that this happened to you

LakeTiticaca · 21/05/2024 15:40

Actually my kids and I saw Tracy Beaker in a motorway service station. Kids had to tell me who she was cos I had no idea 😆😆

AllProperTeaIsTheft · 21/05/2024 15:41

I sat on a bench and had a very brief chat with Helena Bonham-Carter in a village children's playground while our kids played, andTim Burton stood in the far corner on his own looking aloof.

Onesailwait · 21/05/2024 15:45

Well, if we're talking celebs. My daughter & her friends were downtown and popped into 7eleven to get snacks & Justin Bieber was in there!. Took selfies with the girls🤩🤩.I believe he was in town for a hockey players wedding.

BouleDeSuif · 21/05/2024 15:47

I saw Bill Bailey in a Persian restaurant on Hammersmith road.

My friend has a good one. She once snapped some chopsticks and caught a fly like in Karate Kid

I saw him once shopping in Maidenhead in his leather jacket

A very long time ago Neil Morrissey asked if he could buy me a drink in a hotel bar. Then my grandad arrived to take me out so I had to say no to Neil.

SaltedCaramelIcedLatte · 21/05/2024 16:14

Emma Watson used to come into retail place I worked at!

TakeOnFlea · 21/05/2024 16:14

Why would nobody believe that? 🤣🤣🤣

Pettyman · 21/05/2024 16:16

I saw Hale and Pace n the Indian restaurant. I know, it’s unbelievable

Unforgettablefire · 21/05/2024 16:20

Adam Ant in a tiny coffee shop years ago. Me and my dd stood next to him waiting to be served it was bizarre I had been a huge fan back in the day. He still had that gorgeous face.
