Dd is on holiday so.im looking after both GS. Plus have my kids as well
We all get sorted for school normal morning all fine.

We decided to pop to the shop on the way to school to grab breakfast.. from then on kids are not taking their stuff when I tell them to lights are on nobody home type thing. All 3 of them just staring into space.

Get on the 1st bus baby gs chuck's up all over me . I get of the bus. Then my ds is chucking up because he saw baby gs chuck up. I go to tesco buy a top. Clean myself and gs up. Change into new top. Then I'm waiting for my next bus. Older gs falls over cuts his lip . So he's screaming . Sort him out get on bus. Older gs then drops his lunch on the floor. 5 mins on the bus and baby gs chucks up on me again. We got of the bus and have come home. I had enough.

Being stressed doesn't justify not taking them to school. Sounds to me like these children are going to need every shot at an education that they can possibly get.

paprikaforever · 21/05/2024 10:38

so now you’re stuck at home with all 4 climbing the walls
what are they doing now?

SoupDragon · 21/05/2024 10:38

paprikaforever · 21/05/2024 10:33

the child vomited as a reaction to the baby vomit
i have done the same too

You don't really know that though. Maybe he threw up because he and the baby have a bug.

paprikaforever · 21/05/2024 10:38

are you missing work too?

well the op seems to think it was a reaction to the vomit

foghead · 21/05/2024 10:39

Sorry you had a crap start.
Best to keep mornings as simple as possible. Popping into the shop is never just 'popping into the shop' with that many kids. There will be requests (usually with urgency and stubbornness) and tantrums.
Plus eating croissants in the bus? Nightmare.

and what about the other two who didn’t vomit

Exactly
So get up earlier and have breakfast.
Then straight to school.
Treats after school, not as a breakfast option.

yeah, because everyone is always ill at exactly the same time aren't they?

What on earth is your problem? The OP posts about a stressful morning and people come along to nit pick about buying a croissant and boast that they would have taken their child to school, completely ignoring the standard "48 hour" rule.

I think if the child looked at the vomit, vomited and now completely fine and perhaps has done so in the past… safe for the OP to make the presumption she did.

And what about the other 2? they miss school on the off chance they have a bug?

Moier · 21/05/2024 10:43

Bloody hell fire.. give the OP a break.. missing one day of school isn't going to make a huge difference.. I'd have done the same.
Too many people on here being very antagonistic... school isn't the be all and end all.
What if it's a bug ? You can't send kids to school if it is.
Hope your day gets better OP x

because 3 children are dossing around at home because of a stressful morning

and now climbing the walls at home all day with a sickly baby

Whataday241 · 21/05/2024 10:44

paprikaforever · 21/05/2024 10:34

op
3 children are not going to school today because
one vomited because they saw their baby cousin vomit but fine otherwise
one hurt their lip
one dropped their lunch

stressful morning? yep
enough to mean all three miss out on their education? no

Maybe not to you . That's fine we all feel differently and deal with things differently. Twice i had a baby chuck up all over me I stank I was soaking wet with vomit if your happy to sit on buses breathing in vomit smell and reaking of sick that's fine. But im not ok with that .. its not like gs was sick once or a little bit and I just came home. I made the effort to pop to tesco . Buy a top clean him abd me up. And try and continue the journey. But he was ill again. I had enough and came home . 1 day will not mess up their education they have many years of education to go yet.

Who on earth goes out to breakfast on the way to school missing point of thread entirely

That’s what distracted me ,as well !

paprikaforever · 21/05/2024 10:45

so what will you do stuck at home all day with 4 of them?

Justcallmebebes · 21/05/2024 10:47

Blimey people. Poor woman posts cos she's had a dreadful morning and start to the day and you lot pile on and give her a further kicking

Give your heads a wobble. Hope your day gets better OP

CannotbebotheredNC · 21/05/2024 10:50

OP I hope your day improves and it is not a bug ! Just one day off school really will not make any difference to the children’s education. Hope they all feel better soon . In future I would eat breakfast at home ,so much easier.

MiddleAgedDread · 21/05/2024 10:52

Your DD owes you one, big time!!

Whataday241 · 21/05/2024 10:52

paprikaforever · 21/05/2024 10:33

which was?

Basically what I said on here . I called said im not bringing the kids in. Gs has chucled up all over me twice. Ds has chucked up because gs was chucking up. I have had to get off 2 buses. I stuck soaking wet with vomit. And im going home.

TypingoftheDead · 21/05/2024 10:55

I hope your day gets better from here, OP. I agree one day off school won’t make a big difference in the grand scheme of things. I don’t have DC or look after any, but I likely would have done the same as you if all that happened to me!

Well, quite.

This whole situation - OP's shit morning, children missing school, divisive MN thread - could've been avoided if OP's DD hadn't fucked off on holiday.

Hopefully it will . We do get up in plenty of time. The kids just asked if they could have a croissant from the bakery for breakfast and I said they could. The bus stop is next to the shop so it made no difference if anything it was easier.

so what will you do stuck at home all day with 4 of them?

The older 3 will probably play. I will get them to tidy their rooms a bit. I will probably do house work. Look after baby . Maybe sort dinner thinking tuna pasta.
