Support for snacking on crisps and chocolate

I don’t want to put this in weight loss chat because then I feel worse (everyone has such nice, good diets there!).

But can I start a support thread for those of us (like me) who can hoover up an entire sharing pack of crisps (the big ones) to themselves. Plus chocolates and so on.

I don’t mind the odd treat like Rich Tea light biscuits or chocolate wafer biscuits.

But I need to post here when I get tempted usually of an evening and even not to buy them!

Please, no saintly 😇 people who say “oh I never ever snack!”

This is me! I am only fat because of crisps. I wish that they had no calories because I am addicted. I go through stages of abstinence, where I lose stones, or wanting to eat nothing but crisps, where I pile on the stones.

Why are the evenings the worst?

Drinking does help if you’re hungry as your body can mistake hunger when thirsty.

I have tried to replace Pop Chips for crisps which works to some extent.

Crisps are evil but I’ve loved them since my mum let me have a large bag of BBQ hula hoops as a treat whilst food shopping age 7.

Evenings worst for me as well - although I always cave and have chocolate at about 4pm at work as well. Then that makes me feel I might as well keep going as I’ve already screwed up the healthy eating!

Evenings are worse as no distractions and usually tired. I’ve stopped buying crap and the act of making cake and biscuits slows me down.

That’s a really good idea. I really like the thought of only eating biscuits or cakes that I’ve baked from ingredients. Although doesn’t solve the crisps dilemma!

You’re not alone! I’m currently addicted to Boosts and am on my 2nd one of the day. I get addictions to different chocolate that last a year or so but this one is going strong..

I don’t drink so chocolate is my treat.
I bloody love it. I am very overweight but am active and walk my big husky to the shops to buy more Boosts 😊

I’ve tried roasted chick peas, but they are a poor fucking substitute for crisps. I find nuts and seeds are ok, but my pistachio habit is expensive. I find I get sick of them quicker than crisps and I reason that they are slightly healthy.

My only remedy is not buying stuff as I have ZERO willpower.

Started a bar of chocolate but managed to stop after a few pieces. No more crisps! Have to stop eating crap!

Same here. It's so hard. Once I start I cannot stop. Chocolate is my thing really. I am embarrassed about the amount of creme eggs I ate over easter. I don't ever eat like this in front of anyone though. I started today as I have put on so much weight.

Crisps are my favourite food group!
My danger time is around 4pm when ds gets back from school and I’m distracted from working, I usually make him up a snack plate when he gets in, I share the better bits or get myself a ramekin sized little bowl of nuts so at least I’m getting something crunchy and some good fats 🫣
Crisps are the best, pickled onion monster munch, green hula hoops, cheese balls…
Im not tempted in the evenings, we eat late (compared to some) enough that I’m full and content for the rest of the evening. But the afternoon is the real danger zone 😂

Galaxy didn’t sell their enchanted rose gold mini eggs this year. That saved me at Easter.

If I know it’s in the house, I will eat it! Therefore I do not buy chocolate or crisps anymore (and only get sabotaged when my husband or someone else brings it into the house and I have to eat it 🤦🏼‍♀️)
