Would you judge me for wearing shorts and not shaving?

I genuinely don't remember the last time u shaved my legs. I decided to wear shorts today.
Would you judge me if you noticed I haven't shaved my legs?
Just a general wondering. I'm quite light haired too if that makes a difference.

Would you immediately think I was gross? Or would you have as few cares about it as I do?

I would notice, if I looked. I would think you were brave and admire your courage to go against the cultural norm. I would like to do it myself but don't think I'm as brave as you yet. Maybe if we can have more women like you in the world you can pave the way for women like me to follow in binning time consuming female beauty standards that change our natural bodies.

NoOneFellOffTheirChair · 20/05/2024 09:50

I’d not notice unless you had thick coarse hair. Then I’d admire your confidence . I have hypertrichosis and my legs from ankle to bum are like a lowland gorillas . It’s too daunting to shave above knee level so I don’t wear shorts. I’d be way too self -conscious. I used to do a huge shave job for any medical appointments, then got to the point where I thought sod it, and stopped bothering on the basis, HCPs are too busy and have seen everything, to give a toss.

I cream arms, legs, hands, feet everyday because my ski is so dry I’d probably turn into a pile of sawdust overnight. I sound a delight 😁

LesFreursDuMal · 20/05/2024 09:52

Yea, I would. Just answering honestly, as asked. Well ok, blonde hair - no, black bear hair on pale skin (like the ones I'm so blessed with..) - definitely. Thick black hair just doesn't look right with short shorts/dresses/skirts. Just my opinion.

But I really DGAF about other people's painted toenails and 'creamed' feet. Nor cracked heels. I paint mine and scrub my feet, but that's it. I don't seem to have this everpopular aversion to feet like so many do. Feet don't horify or repulse me.

And I'm sure plenty of people judge me for plenty of things. I don't wear makeup, don't paint my fingernails, don't dye my hair and don't 'style' it (it's naturally thick and wavy, so I just leave it as is). Can't be arsed. And my legs are ghostly pale, and I have them out all the time, no self-tanner, or tanning in the sun, because I hate it. I like my skin as it is.

FuckTheClubUp · 20/05/2024 09:40

My feet aren't remotely dry or cracked.
So why are you responding? No clue why you’re trying to take pain relief for someone else’s headache

It's called conversation on a public message forum. Sometimes people will respond to posts aimed at other people, especially if it hits a raw nerve/is something they feel offended by. Is this your first time on a public message forum? 🤔

@Eileen101 Go out with shorts when you have hairy legs by all means. But people WILL judge a woman with hairy legs. Posters on here are trying to be all radical feminist and tell you can do what you want and fuck everyone else. And they're right, you CAN do what you like. But you will be judged. Yes you really will!

suki1964 · 20/05/2024 09:53

Wouldnt cost me a thought if I even saw them

Im in shorts right now, just in from walking the dog and the hairs on my legs are that long I think I could possibly put them in plaits

The sun dosent shine very often this part of the world and Ill be dammed if Im going to not wear shorts whilst it is out because I havent shaved my legs!!

soupfiend · 20/05/2024 09:54

Yes I would judge, I would think 'good for her, why cant I feel confident like that' and 'I wish my legs were good enough for shorts'

That would be my judgement.

In reality I wouldnt even notice, why would I be looking at your legs?

If I noticed I'd be envious, I hate that I feel I have to shave my legs.

this!!

FuckTheClubUp · 20/05/2024 00:37

I wouldn’t judge but it’d probably catch my attention if the hairs are dark.

I definitely judge women who wear sandals and haven’t even bothered to paint their toenails or cream their feet. YUCK. I won’t even mention men, they should never have their mingers out in open toe shoes

I understand that dry feet can look a bit gross, but why on earth would you judge someone’s unpainted toenails ?

LoveMeLoveMySecondHead · 20/05/2024 09:26

My foot bottoms are so soft and luscious that my diabetes nurse commented on how lovely they were. I don't cream my feet.

My OH is like this, his diabetes nurse says the same thing. He has really soft baby like feet yet walks for miles every day as part of his job, sometimes up to around 12 miles or so, usually around 6.

I dont understand it. Mine are like little hoofs and Im completely sofa/desk bound.

Why did you ask if I wash my feet then 🤣

Nouvellenovel · 20/05/2024 10:01

I wouldn't judge but if you're worried enough to start a thread then just shave your legs.
Can't take any longer than reading all of the replies.

Brawcolli · 20/05/2024 10:03

I’m genuinely curious, for those who say they would judge- why, and do you also judge men who wear shorts with unshaved legs? I can’t imagine judging someone’s body hair and I’d really like to understand why some people do.

shearwater2 · 20/05/2024 10:04

I put shorts on the other day and realised I hadn't shaved my legs for a bit. But I hardly seem to get any leg hair these days.

And re toenails - I notice men get their big old hairy hooves out in the summer without painting the nails a fetching shade of pink.

I quite like to leave mine natural and paint them only for holidays and nights out where I might be more dressed up. As actually painting them and leaving the colour on makes them look worse underneath when I take it off.

And I get my natural toes out every week at yoga, come rain or shine!

SherrieElmer · 20/05/2024 10:05

Yes I would. It is rather shocking to the eye, darling.

SpringKitten · 20/05/2024 10:05

I doubt I’d notice and if I did I genuinely wouldn’t care.

DistinguishedSocialCommentator · 20/05/2024 10:05

depsnds on the colour of your hair on legs and the density and if you are a looker.

Men and women that are lookers, people often look at their face first - lady lookers, face, then from shoulders down

if you feel good, go for it

Tuwhituwhoo · 20/05/2024 10:06

I would not judge you. In fact, I wish more women would stop shaving their legs. It’s unnecessary- fine if people want to do it, but we shouldn’t all be forced to.

Peonies12 · 20/05/2024 10:07

of course not, who cares. I doubt anyone would notice, and why does it matter if they do.

Horrace · 20/05/2024 10:08

If I noticed, I would think

'ooh hairy legs' 😆

but I wouldn't judge.

Startingagainandagain · 20/05/2024 10:08

I don't think I would notice.

And if I did notice I would just think 'good for you, your body, your choice'.

shearwater2 · 20/05/2024 10:08

I'm also now wondering if people are judging me for not having a lot of leg hair and thinking I shave my legs religiously. 😅

shearwater2 · 20/05/2024 10:12

I do apply cream to my feet (and hands) regularly (Avon overnight foot cream) as it's part of my bedtime routine and helps me sleep. But I have also noticed that I don't get painful hard skin in the middle of the ball of my foot any more.

If you wear sandals without painting your toenails/creaming your feet then just say that

Nope - judging people for not painting their toenails is the work of a sad little sausage. Sad and pathetic and immature. One could say lacking in any depth as a human.

Very sad indeed

JJathome · 20/05/2024 11:50

I can’t imagine I’d be looking at your legs closely. However if for some bizzare reason I did, I’d neither be thinking good for you, or judging, both of which I would find odd. I’d not give enough of a shit either way.

personally I prefer the loo of my legs shaved, what you do with your legs is totally irrelevant to me.
