Would you judge me for wearing shorts and not shaving?

I genuinely don't remember the last time u shaved my legs. I decided to wear shorts today.
Would you judge me if you noticed I haven't shaved my legs?
Just a general wondering. I'm quite light haired too if that makes a difference.

Would you immediately think I was gross? Or would you have as few cares about it as I do?

Wouldn't judge at all. Wouldn't even notice.

With PCOS I had to, it was black, double thickness. Right down my thighs and the back of my thighs were actually curly.

I envied the peach fuzz on other women

Have you ever tried having laser treatment? might do it on the NHS for this condition

Wavescrashingonthebeach · 19/05/2024 22:59

Wouldn't notice or care. I've gone out with hairy legs before. But mines quite blonde. We need to normalise body hair on women I think. I shave mine but there are times when I can't be arsed

Bouliegirls · 19/05/2024 22:59

I absolutely know that I shouldn’t. But I do. Sorry

ClairemacL · 19/05/2024 23:01

So do I, and I think a lot more people would than will admit it.

erere · 19/05/2024 23:04

I'd notice and be surprised, not judgy. I go for weeks without shaving but never wear anything that doesn't cover my legs, even in summer. So I'd be surprised to see someone happy to reveal unshaven legs - I never see it around here (and I check out other people's legs a lot).

lonerr · 19/05/2024 23:08

I don't think I would even notice tbh

TwoShades1 · 19/05/2024 23:10

I would probably notice but wouldn’t judge. Same as if I see someone in a dress I don’t like. I just assume they are happy with their choices.

SallyWD · 19/05/2024 23:11

I wouldn't notice and even if I did I wouldn't judge. Some people would though!

Wizardcalledoz · 19/05/2024 23:13

Those who matter dont mind, those who mind dont matter.

If you wouldnt judge a man for hairy legs, why should you judge a woman - bollocks made up by society is all

katebushh · 19/05/2024 23:14

Nah I do mine half heartedly with the epilator from time to time as have v dark hair but if I see women with hairy legs I think fickijg good on 'em.

MinervaMcGonagallsCat · 19/05/2024 23:14

Anyone that judges needs judging themselves.

You are the natural one.

EconomyClassRockstar · 19/05/2024 23:14

I'd judge me but I wouldn't judge you. It's each to their own!

PhuckyNell · 19/05/2024 23:14

I'd tip you the solidarity wink

WakeMeUpBeforeYouPogo · 19/05/2024 23:15

I wouldn't, I am too worried to do it myself though. I know that's stupid but can't get past it.

Dartmoorcheffy · 19/05/2024 23:15

If you have really really hairy man style legs then yes I would (I know I shouldnt) but otherwise I wouldn't even notice. I'm quite lucky that I only need to.shave my shins every few months as my hair grows so slowly and isn't very dark on my legs.

CulturalNomad · 19/05/2024 23:22

Judge? No, it's personal choice. I don't find hairy legs on women attractive, but don't presume that anyone cares about my preferences!

Whitesapphire · 19/05/2024 23:25

Yeah, sorry.

mondaytosunday · 19/05/2024 23:55

I wouldn't be looking at your legs close enough to notice, and if I did, couldn't care less.

lljkk · 19/05/2024 23:56

Granted I'm not the most observant: I NEVER seen women with unshaven legs. Simply never.

Alicewinn · 20/05/2024 00:07

No

Onedaystronger · 20/05/2024 00:14

I'd be cheering you on inside my head. I'm not keen on the perception that women's body hair should be removed unless they themselves want to do it.

Ginkypig · 20/05/2024 00:26

I think when I was younger I probably would have a bit.

I would have also been disappointed in myself too though and definitely would have kept any feelings I had private!
but then I grew up in that small window where it was the done thing (at least in my experience amongst everyone I knew and from what we saw on tv and magazines etc) after the hippy freedom but before body positive was a thing.
I know I definitely felt I would be judged if I didn’t keep legs and under arms hair free.

now though I wouldn’t give a shiny shit 😂 don’t massively care about it on me or others!
I probably shave every few weeks then can’t be arsed for a while, when it annoys me again il shave.

i never pay attention to others so don’t know actually if others are hair free or not, except for a couple of times seeing late teens young adults recently who hadn’t shaved their legs and noticed in a vague way but not thinking anything of it. Infact only remembering now because this thread has made me focus on it.

i do remember when I was a teen noticing an older woman who by the way was probably only the age I am now! With lots of thick dark hair poking out of her tights and thinking that she needed to shave or no actually more like I wouldn’t want to look like that but I don’t remember being judgy about it if that makes sense? I definitely wouldn’t think that now though!

ManilowBarry · 20/05/2024 00:29

Yes.

chocolatecoveredpeanut · 20/05/2024 00:30

Nope. I did the same today. Have blonde leg hairs so like to kid myself you can't see them unless you are too close. I need a bumper sticker that says something along those lines.
