What's a nice, smooth red wine to drink?

I tried an Australian merlot last week that I bought from Tesco but it was fairly sharp on the tongue and I couldn't finish the bottler.

I am currently drinking a french cabernet sauvignon and it's better than the wine I had last week but it's still a little bit sharp on the tongue.

I am looking for a smooth red wine to drink. Something that would be easy to drink.

Any recommendations for me and thanks.

A Hungarian Cabernet Franc from Villanyi.
An Austrian Blaufränkisch.

I'm not convinced any of the so called jammy wines are actually wine. They taste like ribena and imo are gross.

Agree, all the JamShed wines are just grim to my taste! So sweet and just....bleugh!
