I'm South East, but it's on my bucket list to see it in real life 🤞🏽.

Are people going to post their pics on here for tonight or should we start a separate thread? Just wondering if it will get more attention and remind more people if there’s a new thread?

RainbowZebraWarrior · 11/05/2024 19:48

I'm happy to post any pics from tonight on this thread.

NE coast of England here, and there's a fair bit of cloud cover already. If it stays wispy, we could still be in with a chance though, so fingers crossed.

It's back on amber now. Still a chance...

CaveMum · 11/05/2024 22:04

Aurora Watch just jumped to red! Action stations!

I had that alert too but that was 25 minutes ago wasn't it?

titchy · 11/05/2024 22:18

app is still red! If you read how they monitor it, it's done on an hourly basis, so the end of each hour more likely to be red as it's a cumulative score.

Tonkerbea · 11/05/2024 22:22

Ooh, thank you, tried to go on the Aurora Watch page, but there must be a ton of traffic to the site.

There’s a very slight pinkish tinge to the sky here in East Anglia (picked up via iPhone). Definitely no real action yet. I got my best photos around 11.30pm last night so prepared to wait a bit and see if it builds - if I can stay up after last night that is!

Flatbellyfella · 11/05/2024 22:24

I am about to sit out in my garden in Colchester where the moon & brighter stars are visible, but a slight haze overhead. Fingers crossed, as i did not know about it yesterday.

RainbowZebraWarrior · 11/05/2024 22:34

It's still not dark enough here on the NE coast of England. 11.45pm was when I got my best display / photos last night.

Livingnexttothesmokies · 11/05/2024 22:37

I'm down on the south coast waiting to see if it appears - i missed it last night and I'm desperate to see it!

Shan5474 · 11/05/2024 23:01

I’m up a hill in a field in the dark in Sussex. I walk this hill often during the day so I know how many foxes live here and the noises are freaking me out a tiny bit. I have two “friends” on other hills (ie I can see two other torches 😆). No sign yet and didn’t bring anything to sit on but I’m determined to see something 🤞

I'm just making cheese toasties for supper before we all go out to a nearby Sussex hill. I took the teens last night but DH wasn't here and DD wants to try some more photography.

lazarusb · 11/05/2024 23:10

We're on a beach in Sussex - we've seen a few shooting stars but no Aurora yet.

Cheese toasties sound amazing! Good luck!! I haven’t seen anything at all yet but the moon looks great so that’s something

TriceratopsRocks · 11/05/2024 23:23

I keep going out to have a look every 10-15 mins. I plan on keeping checking for another hour or so. If it had been clear my intention had been to drive to a hill 5 mins away, but I'm not sure I'll see anything tonight because we have some hazy cloud atm.

Lonelycrab · 11/05/2024 23:26

Not seeing anything yet in north Hampshire. Gutted I missed it last night

ChishiyaBat · 11/05/2024 23:28

Nothing here in South Wales yet.

LemongrassLollipop · 11/05/2024 23:31

Thick cloud here in Liverpool, haven't seen anything yet. Photos haven't picked up any colours. I'm not hopeful of seeing it

Countrydiary · 11/05/2024 23:31

Some greyish lights in the sky in Bedfordshire but not sure if it was them or funny cloud. No colours even through phone pictures. It was crazy busy out there though, cars parked everywhere on the hills 🤣

Over and out 🫡
