Imagine what this cunt would have said if someone unwittingly claimed an extra £5 in benefits.

DuncinToffee · 16/05/2024 13:58

He must really love his printer

£106,000 on printing in 14 years, that is more per year than Rayner's presumed tax

He will pay back £1,376.00

This is more serious

As well as committing breaches, Maynard belittled and ignored a whistle-blower. His chief of staff has bullied her for months for coming forward.

Re: labours action points.

There is some interesting stuff in there.

I have no idea how he's going to get 6500 new teachers (?) and I see he's back tracked on capping bankers bonuses?

I'm pleased to see asb on there as I'm currently dealing with a very distressed family member who has been subject to pretty much constant asb for 2 years from a pensioner

I think most people could get behind at least some of those points?

Sorry, but what does the age of the asb neighbour have to do with anything? Why mention it and then cross out?

...and of course Rayner wasn't an MP either, nor are HMRC coming after her for tax evasion.

Do GMP investigate burglaries that happened 15 years ago, for long as they ve been investigating Rayner election fraud when that offence is time limited to 12months and Burglaries are not......

Because the points specifically mention youth asb

What was he using for printer ink, liquid gold?

newnamethanks · 16/05/2024 17:09

Ah, the 70s. No problems then. My lovely convent-schooled 22 year old neighbour told me she'd said 'yes' to proposal from husband as she'd been to the cinema with him a couple of times and they'd held hands. So she thought they'd better get married soon before the baby came. 2 children further on she'd got it straight. Innocence has a lot to answer for.

user8800 · 16/05/2024 17:33

I agree with pp 💯

It's up to parents to talk to their kids about puberty/sex/safe sex

Sadly, many many parents think "it's the schools job" (along with toilet training, using a knife and fork, basic hygiene....)

I've known many parents who simply refuse to speak to their kids about sex

My own - Irish Catholic - mother never told me about periods, so when I started when I was 10, I was hysterical. I thought I had some sort of forbidden disease of the bottom! 😪

The only "advice" she ever gave me was "remember its not a carrot you're playing with." 😬

1980s

DuncinToffee · 16/05/2024 17:55

My grandma got called into my mum's school by the nuns because she had told her about periods and puberty, this was the 1950s

She also was called in because my mum had been spotted on the back of a boy's bike (her brother) Grin

I return to my ongoing grumble that no government project ever has a defined success metric. Meaning we can never decide if it was a success or not.

That's not true.

I worked in the CS from Thatcher through to Blair. There were "success" metrics all the way, be they budgetary, societal or developmental.

BIossomtoes · 16/05/2024 12:43

But don’t you know how fucking hard she works?

So hard she doesn't understand what use *dictionaries and definitions of words are?

The good thing is that Gillian Keegan understands the importance of kicking the can down the road. If only we can keep a lid on it for 2 years she said about the RAAK problem. A couple of years ago.🙈

Evening Grin
Can't believe I missed almost 2 threads! I was reading the election ones and wishing I could join in!
Things seem a bit calmer now?

Saucery · 16/05/2024 19:03

Welcome back @AdamRyan !

I’m really pissed off for the people of Blackpool. Hope they get someone decent for North. I thought Maynard might be the ok kind of Tory, but sadly not.

DuncinToffee · 16/05/2024 19:04

The sex Ed stuff is doing my head in. The children whose parents are most bothered about this, are the ones who most need the education, because they aren't getting it at home.
Its so totally ridiculous. Can't believe its going to be any form of vote winner

I've also branched out from TRiP into Electoral Dysfunction with Ruth Davidson, Jess Phillips and Beth Rigby. It's also very good. Love JP ❤️

It is true. And it's on you to provide the rebuttal you claim exists, given my claim is on non existence.

I worked in management in the NHS in the early 90s (a pilot scheme bringing successful managers from the private sector and exposing them to an accelerated introduction to the NHS there is a whole other story as to why the pilot failed ). The Health of the Nation Report came out and iirc, amongst the key issues identified (alongside the impact of poor housing and diet on health outcomes) was mental health

This was 30. Years. Ago. SadShockAngry

Iirc, there was a lot of discussion as to what an appropriate metric would be, to demonstrate success in addressing mental health issue, and the sad conclusion was that a reduction in suicides would be the "best" one Sad
