Went to see challenges at the cinema it’s obviously a longish film over two hours. Once it had finished there was a massive queue for the toilets as I think another film ended around the same time. A young woman entered the toilet clearly overtly desperate for a wee legs crossed etc. I said the poor girl could obviously go in front of me only for the woman behind me to get very cross with me. Surely it’s just human nature if you see someone more in need you help? Like if someone was starving hungry I would give them my food even if I was also hungry.

She did need a wee as I spoke to her when she came out as I was worried for her having been had a go at by the other woman.

Or maybe she was just mean? She was hanging around waiting to have a go at the other woman when I said she could go in front of me if you were that desperate you would just go

If they had been in greater need, then God help them if they had tried asking if they could go first then, and come up against the attitude of so many people on this thread.

I think if someone had said to me sorry I’m desperate to I would have felt differently but to just kick off at people isn’t kind

And you can't tell who is more in need because people behave differently. The only fair thing to do would have been to swap.

If she was that desperate she would have just gotten up during the movie and done a wee, no? It's not like you are locked in the theatre and unable to get up and move.

As I’ve said she could have been blocked in and felt unable to ask she seemed quite shy. She also could have had a sudden urge.

You can't make the decision for those 20 women that they can all wait longer.

They had to wait for one person I would have had to wait for 20 there is a big difference

I find it hard to believe any human would ignore a person on the verge of tears in the toilets.

I would swap if I could hold on, which I usually could as I don't leave it until I'm desperate. If I couldn't hold on then I might apologise and say I couldn't wait myself. Someone else might let her have their place.

Maybe you don’t have medical issues but everyone is desperate at some point

It’s human nature to end up desperate sometimes no access to loo’s feeling embarrassed I know when I was younger I would avoid telling anyone else I needed the loo out of embarrassment. Auden urges like I said earlier when pregnant I could go from fine to bursting in minutes.

If you have medical issues then leave it to someone else to swap who is able to. You should have gone halfway though the film yourself if it was that bad.

I wasn’t that desperate which is why I stopped I don’t like disturbing people. Plus with how large the queue was its clear most wait till the end

You seem fixated on this one woman and her needs, which caused you to disregard the other 20 women.

I just felt sorry for her because she looked upset which I think is normal to feel.

I have to agree, you can't chose to make others sacrifice for your good deed, it's like when you are in a rush and someone in front of you stops to let a car out and then you get the red light, it's frustrating.

I couldn’t wait if I could I would have done an will in the future.

Or when you are queuing with the equivalent of a basket shop in a shallow trolley and someone lets someone in front with a full basket.

It is but you don’t need to shout abuse at someone while they are in the loo.

Op you're getting a very hard time here, I don't think it's deserved. You did a kind thing. I think some of these comments are utterly ridiculous for example I simply can't see how it is "mean" or "nasty" to bump people back by one in a queue 🙄.

We brits love a queue don't we, and queue etiquette means that some will get very annoyed if others cut in, which is what happened, even if you allowed it. Not a very big deal in the grand scheme of things is it but that's the culture we live in so there will always be those who make a fuss.

Don't think this thread will improve for you now, don't try and defend yourself against all these comments as you'll be fighting a losing battle. Know that you meant to do a good thing in good faith and leave it at that. Take home message is there will always be those who can find something to get upset about. Roll your eyes and move on - keep being kind the world needs it
