I’m sure we’ve had this thread before, but there are always new shit adverts 😁

My least favourite at the moment is the new Sainsbury’s ad where the boy says, “Daaaaaad…” and the dad cuts in with “Don’t say it!” before the boy asks what’s for dinner. Flummoxed looking dad then turns to the camera and asks “Any ideas, Sainsbury’s?”

What’s that all about? Is it really an outlandish question for a child to ask? It’s not like he wants to go to Disney World. It isn’t unusual for children to expect to be fed, and quite why the dad is so bewildered at the idea of having to think of something when dinner happens every day of every year, I can’t imagine.

What are your most hated ads?

TBH all toothpaste ads - none of them ever actually seem to use toothpaste!

I can't abide the Family ones for chips. Think it's maccains. They are just so smarmy and as though eating overpriced chips somehow makes you more of a family or a better parent. Just insulting and weird.

The new Verisure one!
The redhaired Irish woman who was on Strictly (and not as good as she wanted to be I think).
They have gone from one unlikeable theme to another.
"Give us a call.... blah blah" (you do not work them, duh) - as she lifts a mug to her mouth and only just opens it in time.

Old advert flex

The one for Vefisure with the hideously patronising woman saying something like "and if someone's broken into YOUR house Dave we should all be worried!" Snide grin to camera. It's not funny. It's unpleasant.

Oh and the woman talking out of the back of head - Graze.

The Tampax ad where the flow is compared to rain, it actually makes me cringe

This one makes me angrier than most things that give me the rage. Words cannot express how much I hate it. And it goes on for hours.

I've rewatched it at least 10 times!!! How could I forget "Va Va Voom"? Thank you 👏😍

Love this thread and am saving it to read at leisure! My currently most hated commercial's nicely done but keeps making me go "WTF ARE THEY THINKING?!!"

There are, incidentally, tons of adverts with people sitting on the loo these days. I think the current generation of creatives need to grow up a bit.

Advert for some phone, propelled by people's vanity

Any of those really badly acted Pure Cremation ones- they’re all cringe and similarly the travel insurance one when they’re sat on the plane 🥴
The moving mouth in the head ones are just freaky and the Malteser one about his mum “getting it on” …. Makes no sense 🥴

There are a few on one of the Freeview channels that go on and on and on, repeating the product name and how the price is ONLY whatever! sunglasses and some garden electricals. Must be about five minutes long each time (or feels like it, anyway).

The one where they stop sorting out the house and start playing All The Small Things on the piano. Don't know why but I can't stand it.

But my most hated ad is going back years, and the cringe that was Radio Halifax. Isa Isa Baby anyone?
