Most hated adverts

I’m sure we’ve had this thread before, but there are always new shit adverts 😁

My least favourite at the moment is the new Sainsbury’s ad where the boy says, “Daaaaaad…” and the dad cuts in with “Don’t say it!” before the boy asks what’s for dinner. Flummoxed looking dad then turns to the camera and asks “Any ideas, Sainsbury’s?”

What’s that all about? Is it really an outlandish question for a child to ask? It’s not like he wants to go to Disney World. It isn’t unusual for children to expect to be fed, and quite why the dad is so bewildered at the idea of having to think of something when dinner happens every day of every year, I can’t imagine.

What are your most hated ads?

Anything with that gobshite Paddy mcGuinness in it.

The one with Stacy Solomon and Hello Fresh, where she removes a football from the box and says "this is what happens when your children get into the box before you do".

WTF?

The Pot Noodle one of course. Not much better with the new sound effects and snarky onscreen comment.

Anything gambling.
Anything funeral/cremation/death, or policies to pay for them.

The one for some food box subscription thing with the guy ranting on "You have to take into account the value of this food which is beyond reasonable" Is it fuck, its probably a total rip off.

That bloody Lucozade ad before and between The Chase at night, although it is a break from the cremation, over 50's life, rising chairs, vibration plate and funeral services!

The Andrex one with the farting woman making a big thing about going for a shit at work! Foul!

Also loathe the latest Farmfoods advert with the dowdily dressed woman getting excited about some rank looking frozen lumps of chicken and throwing ice cream lid across the room. There's a divorce waiting to happen!

I try and mute them as quickly as possible, but the Dominoes one I sometimes don't get to in time because they sponsor TV shows.

It boils my piss.

Anything where they make babies talk or use AI to "cartoonise" people.

Dominoes here too. Put me right off. They obviously are trying to get us all to use it as a catch phrase. Try harder advertising team! And maybe give your audience a little bit of credit for not being the morons you obviously think we are.

if you need a catch phrase at least have a bit of effort. ( fondly remembers ‘do the shake and vac, beans means Heinz, for mash get smash. ..I could go on)

100% the daisy daisy daisy advert. So fucking stupid.

Also the woman's voice on the Vodafone ads. Her voice annoys me that much I switch off the radio or telly if it comes on. The thing that makes it worse is the shit jingle in the background then the music stops and it goes "aaahhhhhhhhhh". Makes me want to stick my head in a deep fat fryer. Fucking vile!!

The online gambling ones where they make it sound like signing up to an online gambling site will be exactly the same as sitting around in a room with a bunch of friends all laughing and giggling and drinking together.

No. You're sitting on your own, pressing buttons and losing money. Don't try to make it sound like you're socialising.

The Sky Glass one that's been on the radio over here with the "ehhhhhhhhhhhhh" oh god it gave me the rage & I mustn't have been alone because it's been shortened now to exclude that part now 😎

Haribo is as creepy as fuck. The obnoxious holiday people, now they’re in the bloody lounge as well! The Andrex farting woman, repulsive. All gambling adverts.

The Andrex ones with snotty noses. My son has ASD and sensory issues, hates all bodily fluids so we have to pay an extortionate amount each month for no ads on YouTube as we can't risk it coming on! Why? Why would anyone want to see that??

Same goes for the new super noodles one!

What about that creepy Tails.com one with the weird sleazy song "Give a little bit of meeeee" and a dead rabbit. Makes me shudder.

Or anything where they try to make it sound modern with an “urban” style voiceover. I can’t remember now whether it was KFC or Burger King, but one of them had an ad for their big meal deal (or similar) where the girl doing the voiceover was waxing lyrical about it being “oney seven niney nine”. Put me right off.
