Gin and tonic in place, can confirm no Sunak in my fridge either.

BIossomtoes · 04/05/2024 21:41

Not in mine either. And no Adidas Samba prints in the butter.

RafaistheKingofClay · 04/05/2024 21:47

Not in my fridge, either.

This week started horrifically, but it’s ended very well I think.

Congratulations to count Binface for beating the Britain First candidate in the London mayoral election.

Evenstar · 04/05/2024 21:48

Glass of sparkling wine consumed here 🥂🥳 no sign of him in my fridge either

prettybird · 04/05/2024 21:48

I have to say that both Street and Parker's post-result speeches were very magnanimous in sharp contrast to Susan Hall Shock

And Street's interview with Sophie Ridge a wee while later was also good: he accepted full personal responsibility and wouldn't allow blame to be attributed anywhere else. God knows why he's a Conservative Shock or why he's with Michael Fabricant Confused

I think he’s biding his time waiting to move the party back towards the centre. That’s not going to happen before the election but I can see him standing as Tory MP in a couple of cycles time if the Tories drop their chasing of the ukip/reform vote.

BIossomtoes · 04/05/2024 21:54

I didn’t see Susan Hall’s but she looked as if she was chewing a wasp when Khan did his.

They certainly need someone of his qualities if they are to survive as a party.

Love the ferrets @pointythings.😍 They were a common pet round our way in the 70s and 80s. I think they were pest control for pigeon sheds(?) You don't see them so much now.

Amazing results in West Midlands.

prettybird · 04/05/2024 21:59

He wouldn't get drawn on exactly what Sunak should do, although he did say that he had himself succeeded by getting results, but he did explicitly say that the party shouldn't move to the right to chase the Reform vote.

So I agree that he's biding his time.

BIossomtoes · 04/05/2024 22:03

Thing is he hasn’t got a lot of time to bide. He’s 60 now and I suspect he’ll call it a day with politics and find something more rewarding to do with his time.

Zonder · 04/05/2024 22:03

What a good day. You almost get used to being on the losing side, I think, but it just means extra celebrations now. I'm on my second glass of vino.

Cheguevarahamster · 04/05/2024 22:07

He's lost the Express as well

Love it!❤️❤️❤️

BIossomtoes · 04/05/2024 22:13

I’m looking forward to tomorrow’s front pages. I wonder how The Telegraph will try to spin it.

My cousin was the offical Parish ferreter when he lived in Oxfordshire

🤷‍♀️

Heavens - yes. Absolutely this. I'd quite lost the idea that anything might be different.

(With caveat that there is a shitload of work to be done, it's not perfect, nobody should be relaxed about what's to come etc etc)

HannibalHeyes · 04/05/2024 22:16

I wonder if Wootton and Fox have considered Rwanda?

user8800 · 04/05/2024 22:16

It'll be some backbench nobody too stupid to refuse minister who they trot out tomorrow

It'll be worth a watch

Yes. I appreciate- I think we all appreciate- a politician willing to reflect rather than deflect.

Jason118 · 04/05/2024 22:20

Sunak quite possibly could be in my fridge - I don't keep the Laphraog in there, and I've now had a few hence the spelling. Hic.

For those looking forward to Tory Laura in the morning, I bet she isn’t celebrating tonight 😁
