Mine was Ghent, and yes I would but I wouldn't go out of my way. I think you would run out of things to do/see very quickly!

I went to Tobago in February (been to the Caribbean many times, but this was my first trip to Tobago) and absolutely loved it. It was the perfect chilled out relaxed break I was looking for - I’m going back in June for more of the same. Can’t wait 😊

Hi, can i ask where you stayed? We were meant to go but covid cancelled it so it's still on the to do list.

Ginmonkeyagain · 25/04/2024 11:46

We were in Boston and New York last week and would absolutely go back.We mainly went as Mr Monkey was running the marathon so that was the focus of the trip. Both great cities in their own way - so much more I want to see and do.

I may have to save up to fly premium economy though!

Ghent was a stop on a mini cruise we took - the only cruise I’ve ever been on, or am ever likely to!

When it was time to return quite a distance to the ship (several of us) we spent ages looking in vain for taxis, and were told at sundry cafes etc. where we asked, that it was always nearly impossible on Fridays, all the students going home for the weekend, or something.

We had been seriously envisaging being too late back and having to take a train to Amsterdam (sole other stop) but found a taxi in the nick of time.

Later heard that some of the crew had been even later back for exactly the same reason!

Malaga - wouldn’t go back if you paid me!

mynewusername2023 · 25/04/2024 11:56

New York for the 3rd time and we will definitely be going back again.

Cravey · 25/04/2024 12:06

Poland last month and definitely would go back. Prague in December and don't think I would go back.

Andthereyougo · 25/04/2024 12:13

Yorkshire. Loved going back. I’m big into industrial history so hoping to do Lancashire and Yorkshire again this year.

LadyDanburysHat · 25/04/2024 12:17

Mallorca last year, would definitely go back. But there are other places I want to see first.

Whereabouts do you visit in Jamaica? I've been mulling it over. I'm not big on resorts or AI and the Caribbean in general seems very resort-focussed. Do you think resorts are the way to go or do my usual of booking a couple of accommodations and pootling around different areas?

@BresciaBike I stay at family owned hotels - small places with super friendly staff and amazing food. I like Negril, Treasure beach and Port Antonio. There is a wide range of great locally owned accommodation at a wide range of prices. You can tour around the island and go to waterfalls, swimming holes, the black river, Kingston etc. It is not a dangerous country at all - we go out at night a lot are often the only Europeans at dances and bars and we are very welcome. OI would not walk around Kingston at night without a guide. I'd avois Mo Bay and AIs at all costs - get out and see the beautiful country, and the people are just wonderful.

Another one just back from Barbados. Love it there and would go back in a heartbeat - even though we've been several times over the years.

IamaRevenant · 25/04/2024 12:32

Tanzania.

Yes I would but for Kilimanjaro this time rather than a safari!

Prague in the spring or summer is awesome though - very different. I lived there for nearly a year and would go back for sure!

flyinghen · 25/04/2024 12:35

We haven't been abroad since our kids were born. Last one was summer 2019, we went to Florence, Italy. I love Italy, we have been twice and would definitely go again.

MissAmbrosia · 25/04/2024 12:49

Prishtina, Kosovo - went to visit a friend who is living there. It was more interesting than I thought it would be and I'd like to go back in the summer months. Before that Seville, a place I can never get tired of.

TheFairyCaravan · 25/04/2024 12:51

Menorca. Will absolutely go back, I’d live there if I could. Not this year though we’re going to Kos which we also love.

mjf981 · 25/04/2024 12:54

Japan.
I would go back, but would like to see more of the countryside. We did Tokyo and Kyoto which was great, but very busy. I'd love to see Hokkaido in mid summer (driving), or go down towards Fukuoka or Nagasaki in the south. Brilliant people and so many fantastic restaurants. And all surprisingly cheap!

LindorDoubleChoc · 25/04/2024 13:08

Japan. Yes, I would. Didn't see enough in 10 days. BUT I probably won't as I detested the flights.

CommeIlFaut · 25/04/2024 13:17

Gosh, Japan is certainly having a MN holiday moment!

I’m deeply envious. Would love to go back but several years of teens taking public exams prevents us (and I couldn’t bear the teen whinging about the heat in the Summer.)

Yep, I see so many threads about it at the moment and for good reason too. It's a beautiful country :D I actually ache to go back sometimes and I've already been twice 😂 We're aiming for three years time.

notacooldad · 25/04/2024 13:42

Japan was meant to be a holiday of a lifetime, but it wasn't.

I'm going back next year! I can't wait!

GeniusLevelJaffaCake · 25/04/2024 13:47

Canadian Rockies. And we're planning another trip there next year. It was fabulous and there is so much to see and do if you are into outdoor activities. We'll rent an RV, so it's not cheap, but it's an amazing adventure!

Sorrento, Naples and Ischia in 2022
Definitely would go back. I'd spend more time exploring Ischia especially which I loved

Weirdly I did the exact same trip in 2022, I had to double check I hadn't posted and forgotten.

I'd also like to spend more time on Ischia and would revisit Naples, but Sorrento was a bit too touristy to return to. I could do some other towns along that coast happily though!

BlowDryRat · 25/04/2024 13:52

Riviera Maya in Mexico. We've been before and loved it but I feel we've "done" it now.

semideponent · 25/04/2024 13:55

The family chalet with friends. Yes.
