Mine was Ghent, and yes I would but I wouldn't go out of my way. I think you would run out of things to do/see very quickly!

Rome, second visit. Will be going back again and again. Incredible city with so much to see. Next stop though is Florence I think.

idontlikealdi · 24/04/2024 22:48

Ibiza. 4th year in a row for summer. Always said I'd never be one of those people that go to the same place every year.

MissingMoominMamma · 24/04/2024 22:48

Madeira in January. We hiked a lot, swam and ate. I’ll definitely go back, I love it there.

Tootytoot78 · 24/04/2024 22:51

Texas road trip, definitely.
Amazing scenery.Great people.

Avocadocream · 24/04/2024 22:51

Venice in March. Absolutely would go back, amazing place and I adored it. However the world is a big place with lots of places I still want to visit, so not sure I would go back just for that reason.

Florida. We went to universal studios and it was incredible, would love to go back one day.

Random trip to Tirana, Albania a few weeks ago. Really interesting city, cheap, and I feel bad that i thought it might be sketchy - not at all. Would go back to Albania, maybe to countryside next time

I’m just back from Arbroath in Scotland visiting some friends and it was one of the best weekends ever! I can’t wait to go back.

NellyCortado · 24/04/2024 23:07

Zurich for a work trip. Seemed nice enough but didn't see much of it.
South Africa was my last holiday. Awesome, absolutely loved it.

RampantIvy · 24/04/2024 23:12

Last trip abroad was to Kos. We are going back, but to a different part of the island next month.

Kandalama · 24/04/2024 23:14

Sri Lanka
Yes I’d go back…definitely! but we ve been twice now and there are other places we d like to see first. So Japan comes first.

iwantavuvezela · 24/04/2024 23:16

@MissingMoominMamma can I ask you where you stayed in Madeira. I have never been and have booked for me and DD to go. it looks so beautiful, and the hikes amazing

The random galloping and our new kazoo orchestra were particular highlights. 😁

As for the original question, DH and I are having a weekend away up in Peterhead soon. Maybe not as exotic sounding as other posts but we haven't been away together since a day trip to London to see Les Mis in January 2020. I'm looking forward to being on the most easterly point of mainland Scotland as a random thing to do. 😁

Sorrento, Naples and Ischia in 2022
Definitely would go back. I'd spend more time exploring Ischia especially which I loved

shuffleofftobuffalo · 24/04/2024 23:26

Athens, been before, thought we'd "done" it, made a list before we came home of Things We've Not Seen Yet (both in the city and in the surrounding areas, some you need a car/coach tour). Definitely will go again.

Nelliemellie · 24/04/2024 23:29

Seville in southern Spain. Great chilled place lots to see and good food.

WibblyWobblyWeeble · 24/04/2024 23:29

London, yes, I love it and go as often as possible.

Tirana has changed beyond recognition in the last decade or so. I first went there in the mid 90’s and even by Eastern European standards it was a dump back then. I visited again about 20 years later and the changes were immense.

stardust40 · 24/04/2024 23:34

Portugal - it wasn't hot enough for us in July so probably wouldn't go back.

Lysianthus · 24/04/2024 23:37

Northern fuerteventura, gorgeous.

theyoungishman · 24/04/2024 23:38

I'm currently in Buenos Aires - it's a great city and I would definitely come back!

Love Albania- I drove from the very South right up to the North and into Kosovo and it was amazing! The mountainous regions are unreal

franke · 24/04/2024 23:42

I see a couple of people have said Albania. Did a trip around there last year. Some of it was beautiful but they're really messing up the coast with over development. I liked it a lot, but have no great urge to go back. Maybe I'd pass through the northern part combined with a trip to neighbouring countries.

cobden28 · 24/04/2024 23:46

The last time I ever went away in holiday was way back in 2011, just after I'd retired; my ex and I rented a lovely little cottage in Bridport for a week and we had a wonderful holiday there; I know the area quite well as my late stepdad was the son of a Bridport man so I was introduced to the area early on in my teens. Also, my now ex-husband and I had many holidays in south Dorset over the years. Not sure whether I'd want to go there again, because you really need a car to get around and I don't now drive.

The last time I went abroad for a holiday was to Salou in Spain way back in 2005/. I loved the area although the heat was a bit much for me - however the hotel pool helped with that little problem 🙂 Wouldn't mind going back there again , even though I don't speak a word of Spanish, but as I have a heart condition I would worry about if I were to be hospitalised - how to explain what's wrong with me when I don't speak the local lingo !

New York and yes would love to go back in a few years. I've got other places next on my list.
