I don't think people care about the war on woke when they are struggling financially. If you are, it's an every day reminder of what matters.
Probably the people who are engaged on the war on woke or similar culture wars are those who are comfortable and can afford this focus.
I dread bringing up any gender issues here. But the reality is that feeling poor is always going to override that as an issue for the majority of voters.
Culture wars are rarified. The moment Labour stopped indulging cultural imperatives with Starmer was the day I knew they were back on track to being a serious party. The Conservatives have fallen into the same trap by assuming people care about this stuff above their wallets. They do not.
I hope there are some more serious announcements on policy like the railways. That was clearly done for the May elections where it will be popular in London and SE commuters. The commuters are in Tory seats and they are seriously pissed off with the railways so it's a vote winner for Labour and well timed
