I bet he does.

we know what happened to Iraq when the USA decided it had weapons of mass destruction. X. Millions were killed. No one has died in the Iran attack and we should not be encouraging Israel to endanger anymore lives in this region.

Are women so great? Thatcher had kids.Clinton had a kid and watched Gadhafi die with relish
People bang on about Bidens age but I'm glad he's in the White House

Do you know what Gaddafi did?!!!

And Biden is a liability.

Facepalm all you like but there is a difference between hitting a building adjacent to an embassy containing terrorists who helped organise / fund Hamas' 7 Oct on Israel and sending hundreds of rockets into Israel.

No matter what is justified - or not - this will escalate further. And I remain unconvinced whether this is a good thing (getting rid of Iran's nuclear threat so some innocent lives are destroyed in the short term) or a bad thing (many more innocent loss of life later). It's all bloody awful.

Israel bombed Iran's nuclear facilities in 1981.

Iran is a OPEC member, it controls some very important sea lanes, a very weak Sunak refuses to ban the Revolutionary guard, Iranian officials children go to top UK schools, London launders money for Iran, just as it did (still does) for Russia.

Where would Israel/Iran have their war? they don't share a common land border, lobbing missiles at each over sovereign airspace of other countries?

Other Arab states don't appear to have any appetite for another ME war and Syria is in the pockets of the Russians who are tied up in Ukraine.

Israel may well attack Iran (again) but what exactly can the Iranians do about it? other than through their proxies?

Israel bombed Iraq’s nuclear reactor in 1981.

I agree that we should be banning membership of pro-Iranian government groups (and any pro-Russian government groups) here. And I agree that we should not assist those governments financially.

What I do not understand is how any of that has anything to do with Israel’s perfectly proper right to defend itself including by attacking Iranian terrorists and Iran itself if it wishes to.

Israel is under siege from Iran and its puppets.

@EasterIssland

the loopholes some people go through in order to justify idfs actions 🤦🏻‍♀️

In saying "The embassy wasn't targeted. Terrorist leaders were," BeretinParis is correct. This doesn't necessarily justify the actions of the IDF.

Alexandra2001 · 16/04/2024 07:56

Yes you re absolutely right, Iraq, Israel has been very robust over the years yet still peace is not on the horizon.

Israel and Iran cannot have a direct war with Iran but of course Israel has the right to defend itself but where does it end? what will Israel have to do to stop Iranian aggression using proxies?
Houthis are still attacking ships despite bombing raids by the US/UK....... Hezbollah still there attacking N.Israel despite Israel invading Southern Lebanon.... Gaza and Oct 7th....

The only thing that will work is regime change and thats not in the gift of Israel or any other country.

The IDF just targeted a PLAYGROUND with a drone strike, killing 11 Palestinian children

If Iran did this in Israel it would be front page news.

The issue with this sort of reporting is that you must actually trust what Hamas says and it’s becoming rather hard when Twitter is full of staging videos being made .

Is the person on the video a Hamas member ? Do you have proof about it ?

The story doesn’t seem to have been picked up by reputable news media. That doesn’t make it untrue of course, they may be holding off while verifying. But I reserve judgment on truth and accuracy for now.

1dayatatime · 17/04/2024 13:16

There have been a lot of questionable posts recently using twitter/ X as the reference link to their post.

Personally I work on the basis that if it's not in the mainstream news and only on twitter then it's probably untrue or at least untrue until it is picked up and run by a reputable news source.

Especially if the xitter account is of an anti-Semitic Hamas supporter...

WAFA - Palestinian news org - worse than Aljazeera

WhatsTheUseOfWorrying · 17/04/2024 20:36

It’s odd that no major news outlet - apart from CNN, which has recycled other reports and material - has yet reported on the ‘attack’ on a playground.

Not Reuters. not AFP, not the BBC, not PA.

Posypointshoes · 19/04/2024 07:44

Ffs. This is just going to keep escalating isn’t it?

Not sure. No damage or casualties. Will Iran respond to this or not?

WhatsTheUseOfWorrying · 20/04/2024 09:31

A few days have passed and still no major news outlet has reported first hand on the alleged Israeli targeting of a Gaza playground full of children.

Could the posters who pushed this alarming story please point to any new, verified facts of it?

Otherwise I think we’re entitled to suppose that it was a very nasty falsehood.

MushMonster · 20/04/2024 13:03

Let's hope Iran considers it done and no further action is taken.
There is never better to time a crazy thing than here and now.
