I've lost a couple of stone over the last year - I was a bit overweight at 11st 7 and am now 9st 7. I was a size 12-14, still a size 10-12 which I'm kind of disappointed about. Some days I still feel really chubby, other days I feel great. Which is normal, I suppose, taking into account time of the month and what my diet has been like. My next plan is to start exercising properly and tone up a bit.

I'm 5 3 and 12st 11lb, having been 14 stone only a few months ago so I'm feeling proud. I'm size 14 to 16 now. My target weight is about 11 stone. Its not thin but maintainable for me and i was that weight once and size 12 and happy. I am very curvy when slimmer, big boobs big hips flat tummy, but its all turned into a massive blob. My goal is to get my shape back.

I’m not 100% sure but I think around 8 stone. Last time I weighed myself around Christmas, I was 7st5 but I looked ill and was losing my boobs and bum and even a size 6 was too big so I’ve been trying to gain a bit. Now a size 6 fits perfectly.

otherwayup · 12/04/2024 13:36

These threads always make me chuckle. Op, you've specifically asked for responses from anyone who's 5ft 3 and as always people of different heights respond - why?! 🙄
I'm 5'3 and weigh 9st 1 at the moment, I'm happiest at around 8st 11 - any less and I look sunken in the face and people ask me if I'm ok!

Lucie11 · 12/04/2024 13:44

5’3.5” and 9st 2. Trying to get to 8st 7–10 but I fear it involves more work that I’m happy to put in! Early 50’s…..I’m still shocked at how much less I eat than 20 or 30 years ago and still the pounds cling on 😩

HappyFrith · 12/04/2024 15:27

I’m 5ft 3, and I’m so tiny I can only weigh myself using kitchen scales. I wear Barbie clothes, and can only wash myself in a tea cup. The bath is a swimming pool to me. I am definitely not big boned; I’m so light I rode our Chihuahua to work the other day.

Wishimaywishimight · 12/04/2024 15:31

I'm 5 ft 3 ins and 8 stone 5.5lbs at the moment. I'm happiest at 8st 3lbs or 8st 2lbs - only a tiny difference but it matters at this height and is the difference between trousers feeling a bit tight or feeling comfortable.

I'm going on holiday in a few weeks and I'm aiming for 8st 2lbs aka my bikini body!

TorroFerney · 12/04/2024 15:36

5 ft 3 and go between 8 st 5 and 8 st 10. any more than 8st 8 and it ruins my whole day (yes appreciate how bonkers that is). Although I know objectively that’s slim (size 6/8) I don’t see that in the mirror. I’ve got a fairly flat stomach at 8 8, above that i haven’t and it’s that which I don’t like as I’m 52 and don’t want a menopausal stomach although I know I’m fighting against nature for that as I’m past child bearing age so in nature terms am of no use!

Iamblossom · 12/04/2024 15:41

I am 5 foot 3 and I weigh 9 stone 3/4
I would rather be a few pounds lighter but I would have to go hungry
I exercise alot and look slim and am 49, so not going to stress about it

I’m 5ft 3 and weigh almost 14 stone. The heaviest I’ve ever been. It really brings me down but I struggle to diet. Exercise is fine but doesn’t make any difference to my weight. I’d be happy at 11 stone too. Although still a stone overweight I’d be good with that!

How did you lose the weight? Well done.

MadMadamMim123 · 12/04/2024 16:06

5ft 3 and 12 st 11lb. I've been feeling a bit "meh i need to stop eating so much" but struggling with motivation.... I wouldn't say I'm unusually overweight in my social circle; I exercise a LOT (running, walking every day and boxing) and I'm very healthy, rarely get even cold and flu bugs. Despite having four kids.

Then I read this thread and decided to check my BMI. Turns out I'm obese Blush it's given me a bit of a wake up call. I've clearly been a bit of an ostrich. But now I need to figure out what I do about it, as diets tend to result in me just weighing more a year later...

gwenneh · 12/04/2024 16:09

5’3” and 8.5 stone. Still a size 10-14 depending on the clothing.

Wishimaywishimight · 12/04/2024 16:12

@gwegwenneh I'm really surprised at a size 14 at that weight. I am similar size but have never worn larger than a 10.

RabbitsRock · 12/04/2024 16:16

I’m 5ft 2.5” & 14 stone 9. Although I know that’s way too big, I actually feel happy because before I quit drinking at the end of Jan I was 16 stone. Heavier than DH who is 6ft 1! Aiming for around 10 stone. I was 9 stone at one point but as I’m getting older, I look gaunt if I go that low.

RabbitsRock · 12/04/2024 16:16

Size 18 - 20

Mmmmdanone · 12/04/2024 16:20

Just under 5'3" and am 10st 7lb at present. Recovering from broken leg and put on a few pounds due to boredom and inactivity. I'm a size 14 bottom and 12 top.
I used to worry when I got near 9st. Those days are obviously long gone! Would love to get to 9.5

lovelyxbones · 12/04/2024 16:21

5'4 and 12st. Lost 1st 8lbs after having my first baby 12 months ago, still trying to lose more. Would love to lose another 2st.

LindorDoubleChoc · 12/04/2024 16:23

5ft 3 and probably now over 11.5 stone. I've given up weighing myself, it just makes me so unhappy! I'm a size 14 but have to buy 16s if there's a waist band.

The lightest I have ever been is 8 stone 12.

FionaJT · 12/04/2024 16:28

I'm 5'3", currently 9 stone 10 ish and could do with losing a few pounds. My weight has hovered around 9 1/2 stone my whole adult life - if it gets up to 10 stone I feel overweight & unhealthy, if it drops to 9 I'm probably ill. I wear size 10-12 clothes depending on the brand.

Alalalalalongalalalalalonglonglilong · 12/04/2024 16:29

@Icecoldtulip I went to a private nutrition clinic and do a full body scan every week and have a chat. My plan is mostly high protein low carb and there is a lot of focus on why I eat the wrong foods or too much, and a lot of talk about my mindset. I've noticed some foods cause me to crave others so I have eliminated wheat and sugar as much as I can. Sugar is my real enemy. I did this same treatment a few years ago and didn't lose 1lb, I just couldn't focus. I was very stressed and stress eating so I had to reassess myself a lot and look at how to reduce stress, I realised the weight gain was the symptom not the problem. I did yoga, reflexology, mindful walks and some cbt and after a long time i woke up one day feeling I can do this. I've spent a lot of money on this but will stay with the clinic if it takes 6 months or 6 years as I know I can gain rapidly again if I'm not careful.

adviceatthislatestage · 12/04/2024 16:34

I'm 57, just under 5foot, and weigh 10st 7.

Ideal weight for me is about 2 stone lighter.

Am an emotional eater and what with being stressed at work, being sole carer for mum, who died a couple of months ago, plus a DH who can eat what he wants and not out announce in (helps he loves exercising) have completely lost sight of what i should be doing to shift this weight.

Now feeling thoroughly fed up Sad

MissDianaBarry · 12/04/2024 16:39

I am 5ft 3 - when I was in my 20s 8.5 stone was my ideal. At 9.st I felt really heavy. I am now 63 and average 10st 4 - 2 children, menopause, age. Things change.

Greengagesummer65 · 12/04/2024 18:25

Am 5ft 3 and weight 9st 5, seems I can get into a 12 okay. Put on a lot over lockdown and struggling to lose it. Was 8st 4 (10) in those halcyon days. Am trying to get back in the 8 stone range again, have lost 6lbs over past few weeks, a bit to go. I’m nearly 60, which might have something to do with it 🙄

NancyPickford · 12/04/2024 18:44

5' 3", 9 stone 2 pounds, size 14.

Femalefootyfan · 12/04/2024 19:21

I’m 5 feet nothing and weigh about 8 stone 3lbs. Just under two years ago I was almost 11 stone so really far too heavy for my height. I did get to about 7 stone 12lbs last summer but I felt I was starting to look too thin, so I’m good at the weight I am. I’m a size 6-8 on top and an 8 bottom.
I would like to get to 8 stone though but really struggling to lose that 3lbs, that said, I’m eating a few more chocolate biscuits lately.
I’m 59

PracticallyPerfectedIt · 12/04/2024 19:39

Just been looking at the BMI calculator. For 5ft 3in the bottom of the healthy range is 7st7lbs. Yikes. I've not been that weight since primary school!
