Talk to me about how easily you conceived

I’m just turned 37, had a mc at 8 weeks in Feb, first proper cycle trying again this month (1 period in between).

I’ve got a 5 and 3 year old who were conceived quickly (cycle 1 at 30, cycle 3 at 33). Now 2dpo and just so desperate to be pregnant again.

Obviously I appreciate it could take months or years, and that I’m incredibly lucky to have the kids I do, but to give me some positive vibes please tell me about your easy/quick conception stories, preferably in late 30s or older!

I conceived first cycle three times, including a couple of months before turning 37. If you conceived easily that recently it probably won’t take long. Good luck.

Bluestoat · 11/04/2024 17:04

2nd cycle aged 29, 2nd cycle aged 30, first cycle aged 33 (not actually ttc), 6th cycle aged 39.

Welshcake15 · 11/04/2024 17:08

I'm 38 and am currently 9 weeks pregnant with my 3rd after conceiving in 2 cycles. My first was conceived when I was 33 after one cycle, and my second was conceived when I was 35 after one cycle. I also have a BMI over 30 (closer to 40), so on paper it shouldn't have been so easy. We've been very lucky, thankfully!

Sorry for your loss.

I conceived cycle 1 twice at 37 and 39. Was shocked the first time as thought it would take ages.

seasaltwater · 11/04/2024 17:32

Wow. People conceive really really really fast!

I have one child. It took 3 years for me (so 48 cycles minus 4 for Miscarriage and 3 surgeries to clear as much endo as possible). All around me friends getting pregnant with no problems or without meaning to.

Not going to lie it was incredibly difficult and I wish more than anything I could be a 'quick' to conceive person and not have to deal with this. Can't get my head around someone getting pregnant on the first month of trying. To me that is literally a miracle / out of this world incredible.

RampantIvy · 11/04/2024 17:33

It took me 17 years and one miscarriage to have one child.

DottyPencil · 11/04/2024 17:35

At 37 after 2 DCs, my exH only had to put his trousers on the end of the bed. That was enough for DC3 to be conceived.

LifeExperience · 11/04/2024 17:37

It took two cycles at age 31 and one cycle at age 34.

Compsearch · 11/04/2024 17:40

Lol @DottyPencil that is a funny mental image!

Hoping DC3 is equally straightforward for me.

@seasaltwater @RampantIvy Im so sorry - I know there is a massive range of experiences. Cannot imagine how hard that must have been.

Sorry about your loss.

Did you conceive this time round as quickly as you conceived your first two DC? If so, I'd say it's highly likely that you won't have any significant problems conceiving again, irrespective of whether that's first time trying or a few cycles in. It shows you're still very fertile and very compatible with DH/DP, even now that you're a little older than with first two DC.

Compsearch · 11/04/2024 18:02

Yes @mrgrimblesgerbil I should have said - it was cycle 2, though I’m assuming the mc was because my eggs are older now.

Realistically appreciate I’m lucky and chances are good - would just really love for it to work straight away this cycle, and these stories are encouraging!

Sending hugs @Compsearch and I'm so sorry for your loss. As PP says it sounds like you have v good chance of conceiving again soon. But that doesn't necessarily make things feel easier.

polkadotpixie · 11/04/2024 19:07

11 cycles aged 33
4 cycles aged 36 (MC)
28 cycles aged 37-39

We've had allll the tests, there's nothing technically wrong with either of us but we're definitely sub-fertile

Redlorryyellowlorryblue · 11/04/2024 19:13

1 cycle with first child (31), 1 cycle with second but mc, 2 or 3 with third but mc, then 3 cycles with 4th child (35).

londonloves · 11/04/2024 19:19

I got pregnant by accident when I was 36.

LampShadeTaj · 11/04/2024 19:21

Cycle 1 with both DC1 aged 30 and DC2 aged 33.

LampShadeTaj · 11/04/2024 19:21

No MCs, feel very very lucky. All my friends and most my family had difficulty.

Darcy86 · 11/04/2024 19:22

Conceived first son on cycle 7 at 33 but that was the first month I started properly tracking ovulation etc and think we were just timing it wrong as turns out I ovulate quite late.

Conceived second on cycle 2 at 36. He's now 5mo and snoozing on my chest!

Sorry for your loss, sending BFP wishes for this month.

Doihavetogotoworkdotcom1 · 11/04/2024 19:33

1st cycle with the first 3. 2nd cycle with the 4th

TwistedSisters · 11/04/2024 19:36

1st cycle age 27
4th cycle age 29 (ended in mmc)
Then conceived again straightaway after the mmc without a cycle in between
1st cycle age 33

Good luck!

Fairy0708 · 11/04/2024 19:38

DC1 first cycle aged 31
9 cycles in, aged 35 and still going.

Wrapunzel · 11/04/2024 19:45

Second proper cycle off the pill at 36/37 for DC1 and first cycle for DC2 at 38. Did feel miraculous and I know I'm very lucky

Noideawhatiam · 11/04/2024 19:49

I conceived at 40 whilst religiously taking the pill (that had never failed me before) and then again at 42 from a condom failure.

lifetheuniverseandeverything42 · 11/04/2024 19:52

It took 2 years with my first at age 33 and 1st month trying with my second at age 36.
