Talk to me about how easily you conceived

I’m just turned 37, had a mc at 8 weeks in Feb, first proper cycle trying again this month (1 period in between).

I’ve got a 5 and 3 year old who were conceived quickly (cycle 1 at 30, cycle 3 at 33). Now 2dpo and just so desperate to be pregnant again.

Obviously I appreciate it could take months or years, and that I’m incredibly lucky to have the kids I do, but to give me some positive vibes please tell me about your easy/quick conception stories, preferably in late 30s or older!

DC1, immediately after I stopped taking the combined Pill i.e. I didn't have a natural cycle before I conceived. DC2 was conceived while I was taking the mini pill, when DC1 was seven months old. DC3 was conceived three and a half years after DH had his vasectomy of five years reversed.

Sorry, I didn't mention my age when my DC were conceived. 🤦‍♀️ 27, 29 and 38 in my case. The three and a half year gap between TTC and conceiving DC3 was the result of my own age, and DH having had a VR, which generally has a success rate of 65% at best.

I hope you get your DC, OP. 🙏 💛

Thank you @UnctuousUnicorns. Had you ruled out dc3 then changed your mind? How have you found the age gap?

Happy surprise using natural cycles contraception at 35(nearly 36) and first cycle at 39 whilst still breastfeeding (including at night) and overweight. There seems to be no rhyme or reason and it's terriblly unfair, some spend thousands without luck, some of us look at our partners and conceive!

Hi OP. We decided that it was best that DH have the snip after DC was born, so he had it six months after the birth. As the years went by, we started to feel that perhaps our family wasn't complete, hence the reversal five years later. Of course, if it hadn't have worked, we would have just accepted it, as we already had two DC so we felt lucky to have them.

As it were, DC arrived, definitely our last; we didn't bother with contraception after DH's VR, then I went through menopause when I was 44 anyway. DC3 is now nearly 15. My pregnancy and birth with her was the easiest of all three, and she's always been a very chilled child, I think because she had to slot in alongside DCs 1 and 2 who were 10 and 9 when she was born. She worships her grown up siblings, and loves it when they all go to stay (parent free of course !) with DC1 and her partner - who has the patience of a saint! - for a weekend.

Sounds like a lovely family dynamic @UnctuousUnicorns - so glad it all worked out for you!

Conceived DC1 in my first cycle, and the same with DC2. I'm now waiting for my cycles to return after stopping breastfeeding to TTC DC3.
