Could you eat a 12” pizza?

Like Domino’s takeaway style not Neapolitan/woodfired or supermarket.

I could easily. Not too often but nice way to get 2000 kcal in one go.

Yes, I can.

Rainbowbrite83 · 07/04/2024 22:57

I prefer a massive salad

Before yes, now no.
Maybe if it was with a thin base,i would give it a go.
This reminds me of a time I was in a pizza chain restaurant and ordered a pizza with salad. Was on my own on a work trip and starving.
I was so sad when it came out with a huge hole in the middle filled with salad. None of the gooey centre but lots of crust.

I went to this place with a friend and he ordered this abomination. The (sexist) waiter tried at first to give me the one with the hole and him the one without. I obviously told him to give me my in tact pizza and my friend sat there sadly eating his pizza salad while eyeing up mine. Why get rid of the best bit of the pizza?!!!

edited to question where the pizza hole goes to? Does the chef just munch it down quickly?

False advertising - that's not a pizza, it's a bundle of leaves with a pizza crust halo.

I have a sneaking suspicion that the holes make the children's size pizzas, too...

Whiskeyandkittens · 07/04/2024 23:55

Yes! Domino's is always disappointing though, Pizza Hut is much nicer. Especially the BBQ meat feast with a stuffed crust.

Sunnytwobridges · 08/04/2024 00:34

Yea I could and I have before 😂

OldMrsHempstock · 08/04/2024 00:41

No, we get dominoes about twice a year and I usually have 2 slices leftover for lunch the next day.

Thursa · 08/04/2024 01:49

No. Dominoes gives me an upset stomach. I prefer a thin crust supermarket pizza to that. My portion is 2/3 slices.

That’s what I was thinking. It’s pretty much the same as eating the whole pizza, and I don’t really get the fish and chips thing either if you pad it out with bread and butter.

Adding a slice of bread and butter isn't 'padding it out', it's so you can make chip butties.

Plus many portions of fish and chips are huge so a chip shop portion of fish, chips and mushy peas would still be substantial meal for 2.

I wouldn't eat Domino's pizza unless it was the only food available and I was really hungry but I'd still probably be stuffed after about 3/8 of it.

AComboOfSocksandNeverEnoughPants · 08/04/2024 06:40

I honestly don't know. I've never had Dominoes pizza. I'm guessing probably.

I'm not the biggest fan of pizza, and think takeaway places are ridiculously priced, so I don't ever buy pizza from the likes of Dominoes or Papa John's. The only takeaway pizza I buy is from a place that sells a slice for £2.

Yes it is and everyone is aware of why. 😂

the point remains eating half a pizza , a portion of pasta and some garlic bread is fairly similar to eating the whole pizza, I agree with the pp, it looks like making it more affordable, which is totally understandable , rather than as the poster can’t eat a 12 inch pizza.

fieldsofbutterflies · 08/04/2024 07:29

Of course it's "padding it out". You might use the bread for butties but it's still a cheap way of making a small meal go further.

CrunchyCarrot · 08/04/2024 07:35

No (speaking retrospectively as I'm gluten intolerant now so bye-bye pizza) - I could manage 2 slices max. Have always had a small appetite.

carlala · 08/04/2024 08:00

Yes, I usually have a Domino's/Pizza hut large or a 14in from our local place to myself in one sitting (sometimes with sides as well) but i usually only eat one meal a day.

SevenSeasOfRhye · 08/04/2024 08:05

I'd eat all but two slices and have those cold the next morning.

itsatail · 22/04/2024 18:52

^ I can't tell if this is Mumsnet parody

VillageLite · 22/04/2024 19:09

I’ve never actually had Domino’s.

Pizza Hut, I don’t think I could eat a large one all the same flavour, but with a big group and lots of different pizzas I could probably eat a large pizza-worth of different slices of lots of different toppings.
Though it’s been many years since I have actually been in that situation, so it might be that my appetite isn’t actually up to it.

LaurieFairyCake · 22/04/2024 19:40

Nope, can manage 2 bits

Too doughy for me

LadyChilli · 22/04/2024 19:43

I could and have in the past, but it would be more than I'd want. Three quarters would be plenty.

WetBandits · 22/04/2024 19:49

I could for years (plus sides!) until I developed terrible GERD and now I can't as I’m in pain after a couple of slices of any bread product! Envy

NerdWhoEatsMedlar · 22/04/2024 20:07

I like the Pizza express ones with a hole and salad. Pizza is one of the few things that gives me indigestion but I love pizza crust. So it is the perfect compromise.

Curry, naan and a couple of side dishes, no problem.

PTSDBarbiegirl · 22/04/2024 20:45

No way. Half easily, other half next days lunch!
