Could you eat a 12” pizza?

Like Domino’s takeaway style not Neapolitan/woodfired or supermarket.

I could easily. Not too often but nice way to get 2000 kcal in one go.

I’m insatiable when it comes to food and used to binge so much. Luckily I’ve calmed down as I’ve gotten older but that’s only due to societal norms and food getting more expensive!!!

I could easily eat a large Domino’s pizza with multiple sides, drink and dessert if I was left to my own devices. In college Chinese food was so cheap, I would count down the days to when I’d have a night alone in our college accommodation and I’d buy enough for at least 6 and easily finish it.

My bank account can’t cope with that anymore though!!

Before yes, now no.
Maybe if it was with a thin base,i would give it a go.
This reminds me of a time I was in a pizza chain restaurant and ordered a pizza with salad. Was on my own on a work trip and starving.
I was so sad when it came out with a huge hole in the middle filled with salad. None of the gooey centre but lots of crust.

Ha, I did this in Pizza Express- huge regret!

We buy one between a family of 4 (including 2 sporty teens) and then serve with a few pieces of sweetcorn / cucumber on the side. Stuffed for days!!

Genuinely not sure if this is a parody or not.

tillyandmilly · 07/04/2024 22:09

Yes always starving after eating 8” pizza express pizza - never enough - I have sides of garlic bread and salad as well - never had a dominoes and don't think i would like it either!

PosyPrettyToes · 07/04/2024 22:10

God I miss pizza. I have in recent years had some quite significant health issues that basically act like a gastric band as I can’t digest a lot of things anymore. I’d love to be able to eat a whole pizza. I’d fucking LOVE it.

I can now eat the sum total of a slice of pizza, and even worse, I have to cut it in half and eat it with a break in between. It’s TORTURE.

I’m not sure if it’s where the poster means, but Pizza Express sell these

Yes, the leggera. To be fair, it’s described on the menu as the hole being in the middle. It’s my usual choice at Pizza Express as I can’t eat a whole pizza by myself.

Oblomov24 · 07/04/2024 22:11

God yes, easily.

Georgethecat1 · 07/04/2024 22:11

No I don’t think I could, I’m not skinny but I struggle to eat big meals. I’m more of a grazer. I love left over slices of pizza from the fridge so would eat slices a few hours later or for breakfast….i love breakfast pizza. My DH thinks I’m strange i can feel so full but then hungry 2 hrs later 🤣

heavencakes · 07/04/2024 22:13

Yes, I actually used to order a large dominos just for myself until I realised it was to be shared. These days I just do a medium.

I'm slim but can eat a lot.

R41nb0wR0se · 07/04/2024 22:14

Dominos? Grim!

Pizza hut on the other hand...I have (in the past) eaten a whole large cheesy bites pizza, plus a side of macaroni cheese...I couldn't these days, just wouldn't have the appetite.

Proper Italian pizza (especially the Bianco ones with white sauce instead of tomato)...I could definitely give a whole one a good try!

Nudgethatjudge · 07/04/2024 22:17

Not Domino's. It sits heavy in my tummy.
But the ones from a pizza place near us are so light in the vase I could probably eat it all at a push. But I love cold pizza so tend to leave some for the fridge and eat the next morning (I am grim).

Grapewrath · 07/04/2024 22:17

definitely and a side of garlic bread… I reckon I’d have room for some wedges too

emmetgirl · 07/04/2024 22:18

Definitely

bumburlinga · 07/04/2024 22:02

Not sure which Domino’s size it is. I rarely order actual Domino’s - these days prefer kebab ship pizza and can almost always get 2 x 12” for £18. From memory, seems a little smaller than Domino’s large but definitely bigger than their medium.

Yup, the large is 13.5. So it’s bigger than a medium a bit and smaller than a large by a bit more/

Perfectlystill · 07/04/2024 22:21

Easily

Dominoes is more than 2000 cals

MolkosTeenageAngst · 07/04/2024 22:26

I can’t picture how big 12” is as I’m rubbish at visualising size and don’t often get takeaway pizza but I can and have eaten a medium takeaway pizza to myself before, could probably eat a large one although think on the few occasions I’ve gotten one I usually try and leave a couple of slices for the next day, not necessarilly because I couldn’t manage them but I just like takeaway pizza the day after.

Isometimeswonder · 07/04/2024 22:26

SabreIsMyFave · 07/04/2024 20:50

No. Me and DH actually split a 12" pizza between us (and have a modest portion of pasta each - and a slice of garlic bread each,) for a meal. We also buy a portion of cod and chips and mushy peas and share it with a piece of bread and butter each...

And no we're not 'teeny tinies,' OR 'pensioners.' We just aren't massive eaters. There's actually nothing wrong with not being huge eaters. Some people eat less than others. Who knew?! Wink

Cue the sarcy comments from people about people who eat smaller portions... and totes hilaire comments about how their whole family makes half a pizza last a week. yawn... Wink

Edited

That's not the question! Half a pizza... but add on garlic bread and pasta, and that's probably as much or more than the pizza itself!

EconomyClassRockstar · 07/04/2024 22:26

We get a 16 inch NY style pizza and I can only do one slice in a sitting if it's cut in the standard 8. But then I come "home" ie to the UK and happily polish off an entire Pizza Express pizza. My body's Pizza Maths is off.

headstone · 07/04/2024 22:26

WittiestUserNameEver your husband wines the thread, those Costco pizzas normal feed my family of six.
As for the question I could certainly eat a whole one in one night but I’d need an hour break halfway through.

GameOfJones · 07/04/2024 22:26

Easily. I would order a medium dominos if just for me or a large if sharing or I wanted leftovers.

Half a pizza plus pasta plus garlic bread isn’t a ‘smaller portion’ by many people’s standards though… it’s a pretty huge meal!

That’s what I was thinking. It’s pretty much the same as eating the whole pizza, and I don’t really get the fish and chips thing either if you pad it out with bread and butter.

Just seems like a way of making a takeaway more affordable by adding in food from home?

SallyWD · 07/04/2024 22:48

Is that the size of pizzas in Pizza Express? If so, then yes I always eat a whole one.
