Why are you still up?

Why are you still awake or up?

For me, I've a family member threatening to discharge themselves from a mental health ward. They aren't sectioned so they could leave. I'm hoping the doctor will talk them round when they are seen. Nurses have said they might phone if he does leave. So it's impossible to sleep now.

Ds had a nightmare and he climbed into my bed, but he is now asleep and I awake.

I was asleep and woke up after midnight and just can't get back to sleep.

DD (14) is en route to Paris for a Netball Week, Masterclass, Training and Tournament. We're in the NorthWest, she left at midnight and is currently on the M6, so am tracking her and pretending I'm not tired 🙃

Because the kids over the road are having a party, and the drums, voices and screechy voices are impossible to sleep through

I think the antibiotics for DS2 (12 months) have kicked in, all the energy he lacked in the day is now here. I'm getting lots of claps since I abandoned the quest to sleep and went downstairs with him. I've decided it's reassuring since it's felt like he's spat out every dose...

My teenager is in the bedroom above me having a sleepover, and one or the other of them goes to the loo every ten minutes. Stomp stomp stomp down the stairs light pull-switch door bang toilet flush light switch door bang stomp stomp stomp back up. On repeat. They are giggling quietly a lot though, so I’ve no intention of ruining their fun!

My stomach is bloated / hurting / DH snoring so struggling to sleep. Think I’ve eaten something I have an allergy / intolerance too but can’t work it out

try to put in a box to deal with tomorrow, you'll be in a better position to help him if you get some sleep!!

I'm trying but tonight is so bad that I can't actually put my phone away. I'm scared I'll miss a call from the ward. I'm also scared they won't call tbh. Some of them are great. Some of them are horrendous, the sort of quality I saw on a medical ward where I had to whistleblow (and what I said was substantiated!). I don't have much faith in them.

I need sleep though.

I have an ear infection and 5 month old who wakes up a million times a night for a comfort feed and she's worse tonight as my coughing wakes her. I've yet to fall asleep, but keep coming very close.

Am on holiday in a incredibly loud apartment. Basically like trying to sleep in a nightclub. Not the relaxing experience I was hoping for. We're here for 3 nights 😓.

I can only ever sleep at weekends if I'm exhausted or pissed, and since I'm neither, it's not so much "awake" as "still up". Might just wing it and watch the motor racing. F1 is a guaranteed cure for insomnia.

@XDownwiththissortofthingX I've not watched F1 since it moved to premium channels. It is rather dull but somehow I still watched a few races per season!

I'm sitting with my 4 week old grandson in Great Ormond Street hospital, he had open heart surgery at 2 days old, due to a rare defect .He is unable to breathe without an Optiflow machine and we have been told there's something wrong with his lungs but won't get any answers until Thursday when they hold their MDT meeting.

Toothache. Day 3 of antibiotics and been urgently referred to endodontist for root canal treatment but could be the week after next. Never known pain like this and have never taken as many painkillers as I have done the last few days! ☹️

Yes, I've gone from being a fanatic who never missed a minute of it back in the days of Schumi and Co, to having not bothered to watch a single minute of it so far this year. 2024 just seems like its a continuation of 2023. It's not the Max dominance, I actually quite enjoy that, it's just the sterility and predictability of the racing. Nobody retires, none of the cars blow up, it's the same teams in roughly the same grid order every race... yawn....
