I saw a Stick Man in my room

Schtickman · 06/04/2024 14:10

I woke up around 2 am recently, and 'saw' the weirdest thing.

It was a stickman (like what you see on public toilets) 'running' through my bedroom. 'He' had no features as his face was a big black circle, but the vibe I got from him was that he saw me seeing him and had a very jolly, jovial and 'oops, ya caught me! What am I like?' kind of expression/energy. He found it all very funny.

It lasted about 2 seconds and afterwards, I lay there very bemused. I assumed it was some kind of dreamlike state, an overlap from being asleep and a sign of over exhaustion. However, when I googled it, lots of other people have had the same experience!

In fact, the general consensus was that these stick men were always 'on the go/innttansit somewhere', and they always reacted strangely when they realised they had been seen. The other interesting thing is that they often have a very jolly and jovial demeanor, just like my guy did.

I'm not coming at this from too much of a woo perspective, as I do think it was slee0 related. However, I do think it's a bit nuts to have seen this and then find out other people did too!

Did any of you ever see the Stickman?????

I’ve had/have all sorts of hallucinations/sleep paralysis stuff. But yes have had the stickman op talks of and it stayed with me for years. It happened when I was a child and I’ve never been able to shake the memory. It was like a shadow moving across a light patch on my wall. It slid rather than walked. It held the shape exactly as in your picture. It frightened the shit out of me.

Are you serious? You've seen it too?

I see massive spiders running across my ceiling quite often but never had a stick man. I want a stick man now! I feel left out.

I hallucinated spiders once when I was extremely sleep deprived with a newborn.
I've seen shadow people out the corner of my eye, which spooked me but could totally have been my imagination or the movement of something else. But I've also had lots of strange unexplainable experiences when I was fully awake so I'm not sure it is always down to hallucinations, I keep an open mind.
For example I had the child calling 'mum' thing too, and my DH heard it too so that definitely wasn't my imagination.

Schtickman · 07/04/2024 13:10

I don't drink at all so it's not that. Don't think I consume enough sugar to make me hallucinate but I was exhausted around that time. I have also seen spidery things when I was pregnant. I told my doctor and she just said 'yuck!' 😄

Did anyone watch the video link I shared last night? I'd love to know if there are any historical documented cases of stickman before the stuckman was put on toilets and 'wet floor' signs!

Humans have been drawing stick people pretty much since we started attempting art. Literally thousands of years: https://www.google.com/search?q=oldest+cave+paintings&udm=2&client=ms-android-motorola-rev2&sa=X&ved=2ahUKEwjo5_GRlLCFAxXeXEEAHTdGASsQrNwCegUIyQEQAA&biw=412&bih=806&dpr=2.63#vhid=jnsauRIjykNNoM&vssid=mosaic

And that's just the stuff that's survived! I'd imagine plenty of people were doodling similar things in the dirt round the campfire

I see spiders. That's bad enough. Your stick man would have scared me shitless 😂

I would so rather see a stickman than a spider.

Oh gosh, I'm sorry to hear that. Your feelings matter too and it sounds like your subconscious mind is trying to get you to look into this more. I hope your husband has a change of heart.

Thank you but he won't. To be fair he is disabled and the thought of moving is too much for him. Mainly because he's a hoarder so moving would be hard. I guess it bothers me more than I realise. Don't know what the answer is to that one, we can't both win can we.

Are you serious? You've seen it too?

Absolutely promise you yes. When I read your post I got the chills and just knew what you were talking about but seeing the photo confirmed it. I’ve mentioned it to a few different people over the years and they’ve all looked at me like I was crazy but as I said it just stuck with me so much. I felt like it was a living being - like alive - in a way other hallucinations haven’t seemed to be.

For me I was awake. Opposite the bed was a wall, most of which was in shadow, to the right of that wall was the door. The door was half open so the bit of the wall nearest it was lit up, the rest of the wall further inside the room was dark.
I thought i heard someone and assumed it was a parent coming upstairs. I looked to the half open door. That was when I saw the stickman thing - it moved from the dark side of the wall, across the light bit and out of the door.

I was really freaked out and shouted for my parent, hoping it might have been them and some weird trick of the light but it definitely wasn’t either of my parents as they came running upstairs to my calls and I had to shout loudly and several times to get them to hear me.

It looked like a shadow moving across the light bit of wall if you can picture what I mean. And it didn’t move its arms or legs, it just held its shape as it moved left to right. Did yours move its limbs?

you said it felt friendly? To me it felt very frightening because it was so real. And almost as though it had got “caught out” by me - as if it was trying to slip out my room while I wasn’t looking. I was actually only telling my partner about it a few weeks ago. Maybe it was so scary because I was a child - 12/13 maybe?

Your post has legitimised genuinely 2 decades of feeling like this was real but not knowing why because no one else had ever seen it. And people talked about slender man but it didn’t look like that. It looked just like what you describe.

Ok…now I do sound crazy!

@BlancheSaysYes That's beautiful ❤

I know. I like to think she was there, just briefly, to let me know she was okay on the other side. I'm the most cynical person on the planet when it comes to ghosts and apparitions though.

Here is an image from Google. He looked like this but was going in the opposite direction.

Missing the point, I know, but you can 'flip images' and then 'stick man' would be going in the correct direction.

This would make it easier for me, at least, to try and figure out what's going on here...

Wow. I'm amazed. The thing is, I definitely caught it running and I felt its speed even though the experience lasted 2 seconds. It felt real but I've convinced myself that it wasn't real as it's so flipping absurd!!! I put it down to exhaustion.

Yes it gave off a friendly vibe but I didn't actually believe it was friendly. It had a kind of artful dodger, cheeky chappy sort of vibe. My religious views mean that I treat all kind of ghostly/spirity things as unwanted and unwelcome, even if they appear friendly. But that was how it presented itself; I caught it off guard and it gave me the charm offensive!

About 15 years ago when I was at a very low point with ME I would have spiders, often giant ones, on my bed or walls, or sometimes the Grim Reaper standing next to the bed. I had these dreams/visions for years but they've not been an issue for a long time now, thank goodness.

I just noticed that you also said that you felt you caught your stickman in the act. That was definitely the vibe I got, like it wasn't expecting to be seen. It's what other people who have seen it also say. This is absolutely crazy that I am speaking to someone who experienced this very thing. It did feel alive like you said. I told my colleagues in work and they were laughing their heads off as it sounds so comical but I was very uneasy about it the next day. I rationalised it but the fact that you were wide awake at the time and describe the same being...that's odd.

OK, I promise I haven't been smoking anything but I want to convey the character of stickman. He had the personality of Bertie Bassett but was a stickman. I promise I'm not making this up or trolling!!! So he looked like a stickman but this was the kind of mental image I was getting, even though he was all black and had no face! Aghhh, I can't describe it!

Yeah so I after I wrote my reply to you I re read your op and the thread and noticed about the caught in the act thing too! It’s so freaking weird?! I’m so glad I’ve found you though fellow weird stickman see-er! Wonder if anyone else will add to the thread who has seen it/one?

Must be sleep paralysis surely?

I used to get sleep paralysis it was terrifying. I couldn't move and had the feeling that someone was coming up the stairs and into the room. It felt very real. Quite common though I believe.

No it's definitely not Sleep Paralysis. The entity was seemingly too friendly. A sleep paralysis entity is beyond petrifying.

Schtickman · 07/04/2024 21:19

I agree it wasn't sleep paralysis. I wasn't scared or paralysed for a start. I just thought 'what on earth...???'

No but after seeing The Ring I used to see Samara from that movie in standing in my room in the middle of the night

Echobelly · 07/04/2024 21:29

I had a weird half asleep hallucination once when I thought I'd woken up and could see a pendant on a chain hanging off my bedside table and swinging in the dark and I looked to the side and saw like a cutaway view of a tunnel in my bedroom wall. It was just big enough for child to crawl through and I could see a little girl in an old fashioned white nightie crawling through it - she was facing away from me and as she turned to me, I woke up. My heart was racing like I'd had a scare and I was lying facing the wall where I'd seen the tunnel. I figured it was probably sleep paralysis and it helped that I had an idea what it might have been.

Echobelly · 07/04/2024 21:30

double post

thepastinsidethepresent · 07/04/2024 21:34

This is fascinating! I feel like I want to see one now. 😄

I've had sleep paralysis in the past and had some odd sensations/hallucinations with that, but as pps have said those were always unpleasant, it's really interesting that these are being experienced as benign.

CharlotteLightandDark · 07/04/2024 21:48

I was thinking of the old post about the stick man too! Think it was on one of the paranormal threads. She said she saw it out in the street in the early hours of the morning and that it was angry at being seen and followed her home.

it defo wasn’t slenderman, it was much more like what you’re describing. Inter dimension being maybe!
