I've had my eye on these for a while, and found it on Vinted, a king size one. It's only 10.5 tog, so I'm hoping it's going to be warm enough (I'm in Scotland).
I feel very excited at the thought of potentially not having to change my duvet covers again.
And it fits in the machine for washing!
Please share my excitement. I don't even care that my chat is so sad Grin

I bought one of these for D1 when she went off to university and she loved it. The washers were big capacity so it went in with her weekly wash and dried really well. Saved time and faff changing covers. I got it from John Lewis.

Changing a duvet cover is hardly a faff, especially at uni. You have so much free time.

sdds15 · 04/04/2024 17:22

aren't those just called blankets?Grin

Flossflower · 04/04/2024 17:23

I will stick to my multi thread count cotton sheets!
Regardless of how quick it drys I don’t want polyester next to my skin.
If there are 2 of you changing a duvet takes 5 minutes.

I have a few. Yes they take up room, but as someone who just cannot put covers on duvets, i love them.

Better you than me.
Fine if you have a huge utility room to hang up loads of bed linen for a few days I guess.

I have a summer one. I wash it in the morning and it's dry by bedtime - much quicker than a cotton duvet cover. It's light and fits easily in the washing machine.

Same here.

I know! How lazy can you be that at eighteen you can't be arsed to change a duvet cover.

ItWasTheBestOfTimes · 04/04/2024 17:47

We got these a few months ago, the 10.5 tog ones, and I absolutely love them, as I hate putting duvet covers onto duvets. We have the herringbone ones - they are a sleeping bag type material and come out the wash practically dry if you give it an extra spin. I air dry them over the bannister and they are dry within 2 hours.

Why would you need bed linen hanging for days?

And the award for the thread with the most ignorant twats goes to…

peloton2024 · 04/04/2024 18:00

I don't get how people are drying them so quick
I did a wash late last night of standard clothes items, turned on the heated airer at 9am this morning and everything is still wet
On a standard airer my clothes are a good 2-3 days to dry totally and that's with an extra spin Confused and a dehumidifier

BigPandaTinyDragon · 04/04/2024 18:02

I don’t get why you’d put a cover on one! Surely the whole point is that you don’t. I’m really confused.

But I can vouch for the fact that they dry in under a day just on an airer indoors.

1daughterand3sons · 04/04/2024 18:08

I have coverless duvets for the kids so much easier than messing around with covers and less to wash.

NeedthatFridayfeeling · 04/04/2024 18:09

What sized washing machine do you need for a superking version of these?

They’re designed to dry quickly

They only do super king in 4.5 tog. I think you need a 9kg drum.

QuestionableMouse · 04/04/2024 18:18

Mine is a double and fits snuggly in my 9kg washer!

NeedthatFridayfeeling · 04/04/2024 18:21

Thank you @PotatoPudding not for me right now then 😊

helpfulperson · 04/04/2024 14:01

I love mine but sleep under a sheet with the duvet on top so mostly just wash the sheet, not the duvet.

Me too!

Gettingbysomehow · 04/04/2024 18:28

I love mine to death op. I've had it for 2 years and it's so easy. I live in Somerset and it's been warm enough for all seasons. I flung it off last night because it was too warm.
I think in winter in Scotland you may need a thick blanket as well.
I'll never put another duvet cover on again 😃

Gettingbysomehow · 04/04/2024 18:30

I dry mine on the banister rail as I have no dryer and it's dry in two hours.

Abouttoblow · 04/04/2024 18:32

I bought the one you've ordered a couple of months ago and I love it. I have a flat sheet below it (I had this too when I had a duvet) and pop it in the wash every other week.
I wash it first thing and it's over the airer all day and completely dry by bed time.
I hated changing duvet covers and find this so much easier.

Upinthenightagain · 04/04/2024 18:33

How cute is that

User56785 · 04/04/2024 18:34

JMSA · 04/04/2024 16:36

I personally would never choose a white one, as it looks much too like a naked duvet!
This is mine. I'm not saying it's beautiful but it is practical!

You don’t even like how it looks (unsurprisingly) but you would rather look at it every single day than go to the effort of changing your own duvet cover!
