I’ll start with Ryan Reynolds. He honestly seems completely down to earth, responsive to his fans and likes to have a good joke at his own expense

Andy Murray
Listen to his comments in interviews about equality for men and women

Jifmicroliquid · 06/04/2024 07:11

Tony Head is the loveliest bloke.
Brian May was very friendly when I met him.

I genuinely think everyone has good and bad in them though. Even the nicest person will have behaved badly in someones eyes at some point and that encounter will shape how a person talks about them forever.

CurlewKate · 06/04/2024 07:19

What does "down to earth" mean?

Haven’t RTFT, but has anyone mentioned Jennifer Garner? Love her.

Also Ryan Reynolds, Keanu (of course), Robin Williams, definitely Rylan. I remember a podcast with him, where he said one of the runners from his first presenting gig (was it a reality spin off?) was now his manager. Sounds like he respects everyone and can recognise good people.

Paul Walker (passed away)
Lewis Hamilton (f1 driver)
Keanu
Elizabeth Gillies
Ryan Renolds

I think rich people should pay for their. Children's education. Schools are too stretched

I completely disagree.

The only way state schools will improve is if there's no two tier system and those who can afford and implement change have no option but to put their children through the same education everyone gets.

Having said that, the secondary school Paul's children went to was very highly regarded at the time.

Paul Walker was 33 when he started dating his last girlfriend who was 16.

I loved him but this shocked me.

Thought of someone else to add here… Timmy Mallett, he of nutty 80s early morning tv and slightly dodgy songs, now spends his days cycling around places (currently around northern island), painting, remembering his brother in “thin” places, saying hello to people and generally seems a nice guy. This is all based on Instagram, but I reckon (and hope) he’s a nice bloke

Emmz1510 · 06/04/2024 08:16

I agree totally about Ryan Reynolds. Others have mentioned Keanu Reeves, Dolly Parton and JKR -yep, completely agree. JKs tireless devotion to women’s rights in the face of rampant criticism and misplaced accusations of transphobia, I really admire that.
Others that come to mind include, yes, Stacey Solomon, Sean Bean, David Attenborough, the other guy off Pointless Alexander ? as well as Richard Osman. I tend to like and admire celebrities who keep a fairly low public profile even although they are huge stars and brilliant at what they do.

MrsLargeEmbodied · 06/04/2024 08:18

I am a big fan of Jamie Dorlan after his Desert Island Discs, wish him all good things.

MrsLargeEmbodied · 06/04/2024 08:20

listened to the programme with Andy Murray and Nazanin Zaghari-Ratcliffe - so very moving.

Riverlee · 06/04/2024 08:27

Ed Sheeran - relative worked with him recently . Said he was lovely.

CurlewKate · 06/04/2024 08:31

@2mummies1baby Yep. So why should "celebrities" be praised for being normal human beings? I expect more before I call someone a "genuinely good" person, celebrity or not!

CaptainCallisto · 06/04/2024 08:49

I did panto with Brian Blessed about 20 years ago, and he was a genuinely lovely man; always had time for everyone, would check in on the juniors (and make them laugh hysterically by pulling faces during delays/boring periods), put boxes of biscuits in the crew room... I don't have a bad word to say about him.

That's cool, but I was talking about a celebrity I think is a genuinely good person, not a celebrity you think is a genuinely good person.

Also, strange that you've taken issue with me, and not the people who are praising Johnny 'let's kill my wife and rape her body' Depp and Leonardo 'I won't shag anyone over 25' DiCaprio. I guess we all have our priorities!

Zatapeg · 06/04/2024 08:51

The gorgeous 🥰 Johnny Depp, he dresses up as captain Jack Sparrow, and goes into children's hospital,!! He is also very generous with his money 😁

He's also a wifebeater.

Wrong.

She's a walking contradiction....

Doesn't have one night stands - has sex with Gareth Gates.

Takes the mickey out of cross dresser ex, thinks he's gross, yet dates JJ who dates transexuals

Katie Price is disgusting. Anyone who lets herself be filmed having sex whilst pregnant and some of the stuff she does, she’s no better than a hooker really. I don’t believe she doesn’t have one night stands either. Her snatch will give out one of these days.

RabbitsRock · 06/04/2024 09:21

Jon Bon Jovi
Meryl Streep

MrsLargeEmbodied · 06/04/2024 09:23

who is Ryan Reynolds?
what has Keanu done?

Ivyiris · 06/04/2024 09:36

Lewis capaldi

Singleandproud · 06/04/2024 09:40

@MrsLargeEmbodied
Keanu gives huge amounts of money to children's and cancer charities.
Tends to be very respectful of women, when they take photos he never touches them more hovers his hand around their back.
Plus he has had a pretty traumatic life himself with several significant personal bereavements and tends to live a fairly normal lifestyle despite his career.

Ryan Reynolds the man who has with the help of his business partner saved a struggling Welsh town and improved many people's employment prospects
