I’ll start with Ryan Reynolds. He honestly seems completely down to earth, responsive to his fans and likes to have a good joke at his own expense

Kenny Daglish - who went to several funerals a day after Hillsborough out of respect for the fans who died.

Vicky McClure, who just comes across as a compassionate and down to earth person.

George Michael, for helping people away from the spotlight and not needing thanks for it.

You mean Steve Backshall who has apparently behaved inappropriately with a younger female (sexual assault?)?

Link please?

This is absolutely true. A different friend has a 20yr+ connection with him (it would be outing for my friend to say how).

Needless to say, he will tell you how wonderful Paul is, how generous and kind. My friend is regularly invited to parties Paul hosts, even though the connection they have mean that's unusual. Paul invites lots of people with that similar connection to my friend, due to his generosity.

My friend has met several friends of Paul's through the years, both slebs and non sleb. The last one I remember him talking about meeting was the singer in Keane, who was apparently very pleasant.

It's always lovely to hear that people you think are nice, actually are. It's especially nice when they are such big stars like Paul Mc!

MuggedByReality · 04/04/2024 18:28

Jurgen Klopp. And no, I’m not a Liverpool supporter.

Theresa May. And no, I’m not a Tory.

Ed Sheeran.

Rylan Clark - everyone who has met him says how lovely and humble he is. And there's a brilliant podcast where he talks about the importance of being nice to everyone and understanding that he's not special.

I was going to say Rylan.

Cilla Black - charming, humble lady

PurpleFlower1983 · 04/04/2024 18:37

Lady Gaga

Cilla Black - charming, humble lady

That's a laugh, she was well known (on here) for being a complete and utter bitch to people in real life, especially those she thought were beneath her.

It was on here a while ago or maybe somewhere else but can't find it right now.

Ah, I've googled, it wasn't as bad as that, but basically he has a very colourful history with women including using prostitutes abroad (obvs he likes to keep this quiet).

Yeah my DPs aunt did Panto with Cilla and when I first found this out and asked her about it she said she would prefer to keep a dignified silence and pulled a face 😂 apparently she was horrible to everyone who wasn't famous enough for her.

Unfortunately Stacey Solomon isn't very nice

I can't watch her shows unfortunately- much as declutter in my go to porn-she hugs everyone, five times a minute. Every room reveal, another big bear hug.
It's too much woman.
Stop it! 🤨

@2mummies1baby Sandi thinks a lesbian can have a penis.

I disagree with her on that, but I don't think it means she's not a lovely person. You are free to disagree!

Gonnagetgoingreturnsagain · 04/04/2024 18:49

My DM met Twiggy once and said she was a bitch as she'd made a dress for her and never got paid for it, but I don't think Twiggy was actually rude to her just didn't pay!

The late Roger Moore DM also met and said he was utterly lovely and charming. Ditto Dave Allen (comedian), I think she or someone where she worked helped him get voice over work and then he eventually became a comedian.

HelenHywater · 04/04/2024 18:50

I think Richard E Grant seems like a lovely man.

I like to think Claudia Winkleman is lovely too.

I've met JK Rowling and she was very lovely.

ifyouthinkyouregettingawayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy · 04/04/2024 18:51

As others have said Paul O Grady & George Michael. I’ve never heard anyone say a bad word about either of them.

i heard Johnny Marr being interviewed recently and he sounded lovely.

🤣🤣 one of those who must have known where the bodies are buried because the real stories about her only came out after she died.

ScruffMuffin · 04/04/2024 18:51

Viggo Mortensen - very un-showbiz, and bought a horse for a friend of a friend after filming finished on LOTR. She had fallen in love with him, but couldn't afford to buy him.
Keanu Reeves - seems very humble, gentle and generous.

I'm sure Stacey is either lovely or not so, but she does my head in with her OTT character. The funniest was when she found a mouse in her home and screamed about it, but I'd have done the same!

DemBonesDemBones · 04/04/2024 12:19

JK Rowling.

I was about to say JKR

Also Julian Cleary
and Clive Anderson.

The latter was on some show years ago where celebrities "adopted" and trained (and formed a bond with) dogs from a shelter. At the end of however many weeks, he decided that he didn't want "his" dog going back and taking a chance on being adopted, and he adopted it himself. IIRC he was the only one who couldn't bear to part with their dog.

Oh also, Jonathan Ross is apparently a complete knob. My dad worked with him during the 90's and said he was awful to everyone.

He was absolutely lovely to me and everyone else at a gig we were at. Queued up for the band’s autographs with all us normies. Very entertaining. Had to get home because Jane had only given him a pass until 11.

Re George Michael. He was Greek Orthodox and most of them I know are into their religion but also doing good things like charity work, so it doesn't surprise me he did this. Apparently he's distantly related to my step-mum. My step-mum is quite closely related to Cat Stevens and said he's lovely - always letting her and her family stay in his homes in Cyprus.

Friend of family - rented out his Cheyne Walk house to Jack Nicholson back in 70s when he was filming in London, apparently Jack was a lovely man, really nice and friendly.
