I’ll start with Ryan Reynolds. He honestly seems completely down to earth, responsive to his fans and likes to have a good joke at his own expense

I think that beach thing is fair enough who wants gawpers hanging around

But she’s not exactly royalty is she, she’s a celebrity in a shallow profession her status will dwindle like the rest. If there was an apocalypse tomorrow she’d be running for cover with the rest of us these slebs need to get over themselves.

Wornoutlady · 04/04/2024 17:20

I think Keanu is lovely.

I heard a story about Ryan Reynolds being rude to someone at a restaurant. They were all outside looking at the menu and the stranger said "excuse me..." hoping to find out if RR had eaten there and recommended it (they didn't recognize him) and he snapped "Excuse you! We're trying to look at the menu here, no I won't give an autograph". Wanker, basically. Well curated is true.

I think a few celebs have a curated PR image put out by their agents because otherwise their career basically lives and dies on their fans views - well not in most celebs cases as they're too wealthy to care but a lot of them like to seen to be loved by their fans.

Graham Norton is lovely in real life and quite shy

I used to work with George Clarke many years ago, he wasn't not nice but he was quite aloof if you get my drift, only stayed at our architects practice for a year before going off and setting up by himself.

Oh no, he seems so lovely on the telly. Perhaps he's mellowed with age......that's what I'll tell myself.

@ShinyEspeon Now I'm gripped to know about the rumours surrounding HFW but also don't want to know. Please don't say he spits in his food as I've eaten in his restaurant.

Stacey Solomon

Will Young

Matt Baker

Dan Walker

Fern Britton

Caroline Quentin

I like Caroline Quentin felt so sorry for her when the model Caprice publicly used her as an example of an unattractive woman, she’s far from it.

I always sensed that the writer Martin Amis was quite decent.

He was an extremely arrogant man. He was one of three celebrities/eminent people who were being given honorary degrees at a family member's graduation.

The other two were charming, fascinating, insightful and self-deprecating and spoke very fondly of their time at the university, both declaring what a great institution it was and what a huge privilege it was for them to be awarded their degrees.

Then Martin came on and rambled on and on about himself, so very boring, bigging himself up and saying nothing about the uni, except for a few obvious digs at its provincial-ness; however he did say throughout what a great privilege it had been for the university that somebody as amazing as he was willing to accept this degree from them!! He didn't even try to pretend that he was joking or being mischievous.

JustMaggie · 04/04/2024 17:28

Tom Hanks

CurlewKate · 04/04/2024 17:29

I never understand what "down to earth" means. Likes a cup of tea and a biscuit? Carries their own shopping? Doesn't have a butler with them at all times?

MeridaofClanDunBroch · 04/04/2024 16:32

Based on experience of them away from the cameras so not the public face.

Princess Ann
Prince and Princess of Wales

Most recently
Henry Cavill
Tony Head, always a joy and never seems to get fed up with Buffy references!

Despite being considered the Antichrist by Mumsnet Peter Andre is a delight to work with, he’s always professional and well prepared, he’s also genuinely interested in the people he is meeting and very generous with his time.

People on here only dislike Peter because for some ridiculous reason they blame him for Katie Price being a psycho.

Ryan Reynolds unsettles me

I've heard from lots of sources who have met and dealt with him over the years for different reasons that he's a kind bloke.

its2024 · 04/04/2024 17:30

We all have our in public faces and can be totally different in private. The good ones are ones that donate money, time (but don't seek publicity for it)

There are not many folks out there, famous or not, who only do nice things to gain something whether famous or not. It's hard to know anyone expect behind close doors.

Everyone has bad days and everyone is not nice 100% off the time, if they are there rare indeed, we're all human.

Tom Hanks

Everyone goes on about him being a pedo though!

MsLuxLisbon · 04/04/2024 17:31

Sallysslippers · 04/04/2024 12:41

Claes Bang. Met him after seeing him in a play then he replied to my message on social media. Very sweet and hyper. Seemed very genuine.

I'm so glad to know that because the man is a stone fox.

Her issues are nothing to do with her ex-partners.

I know people who are acquainted with/met different ones. The rudest thing they can say about most of them is that aren't the sharpest tools in the box.

I totally agree. The common denominator in all her failed relationships is HER. She is a total mess but this site is misandry central and always looks for the nearest man on whom to pin the blame.

TheLambtonWorm · 04/04/2024 17:35

I think I everyone probably has something in their pasts if you did deep enough. Dave Ghrol for example and their (foo fighters) support for Alice and Well, it's clear they don't support this kind of nonsense now but they did in their past.

needalotofmoneyfrommyhouse · 04/04/2024 17:36

Joanna Page was extremely lovely to us teenagers when she came into The Place To Eat in John Lewis in Reading. This was during the height of Gavin and Stacey. She signed my seriviette saying “X was lush”.

I can’t remember if she was heavily pregnant or had a small child with her but she was sunshine personified. As a mum now I can only hope I would be as kind with a gaggle of annoying kids in that same context.

Olivia Colman

My sister worked with Olivia Colman on Flowers. Apparently she is lovely.

YaMuvva · 04/04/2024 17:36

Alexander Armstrong HAS to be a nice man, otherwise there’s no hope for anyone in the world!

SweetcornFritter · 04/04/2024 17:37

Excuse my ignorance but what / who do you mean by Alice and Well?
