A lake

A loch surrounded by mountains. Possibly with a castle in there somewhere.

Yess!!! This x

Devastated999 · 03/04/2024 11:24

The mountains of Eryri.

EventuallyDecluttered · 03/04/2024 11:33

Snow capped mountains in the distance with meadows and fields of sheep in the foreground, maybe a drystone wall or two. But I'll make do with the steam railway which we have now.

HippyShopper · 03/04/2024 11:38

Wild flower meadows and a dense evergreen forest would do me as a view ! Plus horses in the meadows

sendismylife · 03/04/2024 11:58

A field of miniature horses, ideally my own if I am really dreaming!

DramaAlpaca · 03/04/2024 12:09

My house overlooks a lake and hills. It's lovely.

Soccermumamir · 03/04/2024 12:10

Masses of green fields and hills.

Jasmin1971 · 03/04/2024 12:25

Nothing , it would be in the middle of a forest

Meridean · 03/04/2024 12:27

The sea, because nobody can build on that. If you’re overlooking fields I guarantee eventually they’ll build a housing estate and take your view away.

Xylenegy · 03/04/2024 12:34

My dad's house overlooks the hills of Co Durham and Northumberland. You can see for miles and miles. It's beautiful. They also get deer coming into the garden.

I wasn't really bothered about a view until they bought this house. I'd love to buy it from them one day.

Our own house overlooks our beautiful garden. Does that count as a view?

DisforDarkChocolate · 03/04/2024 12:35

The valley below, and not many lights at night.

Sea would come second.

HappyAsASandboy · 03/04/2024 18:07

Clean water. Lake, river, sea I don't care, but clean enough to swim in!

Not a canal.

thepickler · 03/04/2024 19:08

A forest with lots of bluebells, with a stream a running through it, a meadow on the other side, and a beach at the bottom end.

Basically where my house backed on to as a child.

ManchesterLu · 03/04/2024 19:16

I'd like to overlook fields, but I'd need to own those too, so they couldn't build on them!

That sounds amazing!

Thewildthingsarewithme · 03/04/2024 19:33

@MooseBeTimeForSnow where is this and do you live here??

MooseBeTimeForSnow · 03/04/2024 19:34

@Thewildthingsarewithme
It’s Canmore, Alberta and yes, I do. This is the view from my kitchen window of Grotto Mountain. I can also see the Three Sisters from my bedroom window.

TooningOut · 03/04/2024 19:35

Not the sea anyway, I live close to the sea and have a small sea view. 90% of the time it's pretty grey and the seafront near me is full of people which I'd hate.

My ideal would be a large beautiful garden, with a big pond, surrounded by tall trees which give absolute privacy.

Thewildthingsarewithme · 03/04/2024 19:36

@MooseBeTimeForSnow its beautiful! What’s it like to live there? We’ve lived in so many different places, I love where we are now but I’m twitching again and actually floated Canada to my husband last week, he’s sick of my indecision 😂

notprincehamlet · 03/04/2024 19:38

The Dordogne. And a field of sunflowers.

BingoMarieHeeler · 03/04/2024 19:41

Wow so many people saying bodies of water! Lovely, but for me I love people watching 😄 I really enjoy our holiday home which is on a high street up above a shop so great vantage point for people watching 😄 surprise myself by that. Our current house overlooks a wood which is nice, not a whole lot to see but amazing amazing amazing bird song in the morning, it’s a cacophony.

rollonretirementfgs · 03/04/2024 19:46

Sea, mountains, fields.... actually anything other than buildings or people!

bilgewater · 03/04/2024 19:51

A square of Georgian houses with a church in the middle. I did actually have that view once, but over 20 years ago now.

ThePoshUns · 03/04/2024 19:57

The sea, a loch but I also like a cityscape.
