We overlook fields and mountains. I could watch the view all day.

AstralSpace · 03/04/2024 08:47

@MooseBeTimeForSnow thanks Smilewhat a beautiful pic. And pine forests are the best forests. I love that earthy smell mixed with pines.

A railway line and some pylons. I do overlook pylons so halfway there!

I read this as pythons 😂

Lulu1919 · 03/04/2024 09:58

Any form of water ....sea river stream !
Second would be woodlands

Elebag · 03/04/2024 10:00

Some trees, a road, anywhere I can see nature or people tbh. Not other houses.

greengreyblue · 03/04/2024 08:06

Pylons? Each to their own I guess.😂

we have ravens nesting on pylons near me

EspressoMacchiato · 03/04/2024 10:13

Either the Mediterranean or rolling countryside.

Overtheatlantic · 03/04/2024 10:20

The Atlantic Ocean anywhere along the eastern seaboard.

I read this as pythons 😂

Pythons would give an estate agent a bit of a challenge if it was on the wish list...
"...a downstairs loo, kitchen diner and I definitely want to see pythons from the living room window"... (looks wistfully into the distance) 😂

NancyJoan · 03/04/2024 10:51

The Thames, please, with Tower Bridge within eyesight.

TitaniasAss · 03/04/2024 10:52

Mine overlooks the sea but it's been pissing down for days so can barely see it. 😂

A preserved rural steam railway!

I love the sight, smells and general ambience of them. A reminder of the gentler times, especially rural ones. My favourite TV programmes are Heartbeat and Herriot's All Creatures Great and Small (original series), which often feature the Yorkshire countryside and sometimes the rural steam railways.

We've managed to find a few holiday cottages to stay in which are at old railway stations, or carriages next to a railway, or the latest was a converted engine shed alongside a preserved steam railway line.

Hillside in the distance with densely packed trees with some that change their colours in autumn, reds, golds, bronzes and some that remain green. A river at the bottom that changes from slow moving in summer to fast in spring with ice melting run off. Wildlife but nothing that could kill me ie bears, so more deer like creatures. Flowers and shrubs that denote the seasons, I like to feel the seasons. I absolutely loved New England in the US. I watched way too much House on the Prairie, The Wilderness Family and now living off grid folk on youtube. Oh and a house with a wrap around porch and a rocking chair for me to sit in watching the world go by.

Lake Maggiore

Revelatio · 03/04/2024 11:04

Regent’s Park

silverbubbles · 03/04/2024 11:05

Green open country side with trees, hills or a valley with a river. Ideally no other houses

Bluepint · 03/04/2024 11:07

Sea or a nice river surrounded by greenery. A lake would do too.

I don’t mind seeing other houses but no roads or cars.

LyndaSnellsSniff · 03/04/2024 11:08

A village green. Ideally a beautiful Cotswolds village. There are trees and a duck pond. I can hear the shouts of children at the village school, I can see the village pub, shop and church. I can watch the trees change with the seasons and see people going about their business.

Lake Maggiore

A gorgeous place!

Harrysutton · 03/04/2024 11:11

Pendle Hill.

SheerLucks · 03/04/2024 11:11

We look over a park and the sea.

We've lived here for over two decades and the plan was always to eventually move inland to the countryside.

We started house hunting this year but realised we just can't do it now - I would miss it so much.

FetchezLaVache · 03/04/2024 11:15

We live next to a farm in a village and our current view from the kitchen window has ewes and lambs, a nanny and two kids and three donkeys - that'll do me!

calligraphee · 03/04/2024 11:18

Notre Dame - edited to say in my head I pictured it pre-fire Sad

Maybe I'll go for Montmartre now and move later.

Catlord · 03/04/2024 11:18

The sea and a busy street, or the river Thames on a nice buzzy stretch. The sea no 1 though. Maybe with a fishing port. I love watching boats

Toomuch44 · 03/04/2024 11:21

From the back of our house we partly look over a well known hill, so I'd say a better view of that from lounge and garden.
