I’m not sure. I overlook a lake with mountains the other side of the lake. It’s a pretty decent view.
if not this, then the ocean I guess.

Turquoise blue ocean and a white sandy beach ( not UK).

Willmafrockfit · 03/04/2024 05:04

An uninterrupted best view of the sunset.

An old mill (which I would also own because I'm not a middle aged woman in suburbia I'm some sort of lady laird who mooches about collecting unusual plants) with a beautiful weeping willow lined mill pond.
Kingfishers would alight on my outstretched arm as I tweet their names in the gentle morning sun, "Barry! Ian! Dave!", and otters and ducks would frolic happily together...🤔
All this would be adjacent to a slow meandering river, acres of mossy green rolling hills and an uncorrupted sky view...
Also got to be a quick walk to the local shops and on mains drainage.

Wouldn't say no to a sea view either.

Sydney Opera House.

The sea. I live in a coastal town and our house currently overlooks the Sussex downs which is lovely. However, I have my eye on a row of houses that overlooks the beach and thats where I'd like to move to. Greenery is wonderful but there is something very healing about watching the waves and seeing the moon across the water at night. Just gorgeous.

Sunnnybunny72 · 03/04/2024 06:55

We have open fields to four sides. Horses at the back. Sheep at the front but ten minutes into the city. It's lovely.

abracadabra1980 · 03/04/2024 07:11

Farm animals and/or a river. We live near the sea, and I never get 'sea views' if it's just the horizon-it's a grey, bleak stripe for most people?!

greengreyblue · 03/04/2024 07:13

The sea , mountains, a canal.

SevenSeasOfRhye · 03/04/2024 08:04

A railway line and some pylons. I do overlook pylons so halfway there!

greengreyblue · 03/04/2024 08:06

Pylons? Each to their own I guess.😂

BananaSpanner · 03/04/2024 08:10

Open countryside. I’ve always been a townie but would like to retire to somewhere a bit more scenic.

MogTheMoogle · 03/04/2024 08:16

Definitely water. I think a lake would be the ideal choice.

I'd be slightly concerned any river worth looking at would mean living on a flood plane.

The sea would be temperamental. Sometimes amazing others, terrifying.

Netball01 · 03/04/2024 08:27

ooohh I’d love to overlook a lavender field or wild flower meadow.

We overlook a school playing field and I know some people moan about the noise but there is something really lovely about hearing all the school kids running around at lunch - just so joyful, bless them.

FiveGoMadInDorset · 03/04/2024 08:28
