He has been made unwell by a takeaway that he ate late last night and is concerned that I am not checking on him often enough. He has limped all the way downstairs to tell me this.

Have you checked the life insurance policy; know where it is? Know who to notify; all bank accounts, employer etc.

I'll try and think clearly about where they could be.

Maybe I'll suggest that he phones his Mum?

Ask him where they are....and where his will is.

I have to cook dinner for the kids now. After I might start a full declutter of the house so that I am definitely busy.

And you have to mop his furrowed brow.

Justrolledmyeyesoutloud · 02/04/2024 18:18

You are a terrible person not checking on him every 5 minutes!!!

He has broadcast a message via Alexa asking what is for tea. In a quivery quavery voice.

Tell him as he's got a poorly tummy he can only have small sips of room temperature tap water for the next 24hrs. Also how could he possibly eat with his head on the side? 🌹

viques · 02/04/2024 18:19

Have you found all the relevant paperwork and put it in a safe and prominent place?

life insurance details

his birth certificate

death in service information……..

I think I remember you from other posts if I'm correct.

Poor sod.

Poor you.

It's both hilarious but infuriating!

Oh god...

My DH has a hoodie of doom. It was on last week, hood up, when he had a cold. He shuffled round sighing and clutching his stomach for days 🙄 (even tho there was nothing wrong with his stomach)

I know. It should really be a bit like ICU when someone has their eyes on you at all times I guess. Not downstairs, making tea for the three kids and DCat, decluttering and building an IKEA trolley.

I'm afraid I'd send a message back saying how important it is to only drink water and eat occasional slices of dry bread when one has an upset stomach.

reallyworriedjobhunter · 02/04/2024 18:22

The dressing gown of doom is navy blue waffle cotton with one elbow torn btw. John Lewis, size large. Sorry if that is outing.

13 year old son with ASD has asked DGODDH if he knows any jokes about dehydration. No. Exactly. Because it's not funny. Sip some water.

He'll need the long handled fork for the spag bol, you know, with the tiny arm thing.

(Apologies for quoting the wrong quote. My own is in his dressing gown of doom but to be fair he's sick and staying in bed out of the way. Mostly )

@Youdontknowmedoyou Not to mention what will happen if some spag Bol gets on the poor old DGOD.

That's not self inflicted. He's eaten a takeaway which is pretty normal every now and again. You don't need to bow and scrape to him but what harm would it do to be nice to him (and to not post about him condescendingly online).

Are you new here?

reallyworriedjobhunter · 02/04/2024 18:26

It would have to go in the wash. Then he would be without the DGOD and we would have no way of knowing if he was ill or not.

My sympathies OP, I don't think its going to be terminal.

DCat wouldn't tolerate it. He might take him a Likilix.

Your cat shares Likilix?! That’s a one-off!

reallyworriedjobhunter · 02/04/2024 18:37

He has shuffled down again. Says he is def having spag bol with us and not toast and water and he needs the nutrients.

OP posts:
IHateLegDay · 02/04/2024 18:37

Do a shot every time he talks in a pathetic voice! 😂 it could be the worlds deadliest drinking game!

reallyworriedjobhunter · 02/04/2024 18:37

But he is too ill to speak to him Mum.
