Same here, especially as my spag isn’t the best & was afraid I would be pulled up on it thankfully no one has ever has which I’m grateful for this is my happy space I have been educated/informed on all sorts of subjects laughed out loud on many occasions, these threads are very supportive & respectful.
echo IClaudine in welcoming any new posters.

Thanks. I haven’t found it respectful at all.

DuncinToffee · 25/03/2024 19:29

You probably started off on the wrong foot Absym by saying we weren't aware of CoL crises in other countries, especially as we are a mix of nationalites and posters living/spending time abroad.

When was the last blue moon?

Piggywaspushed · 25/03/2024 19:29

When was the last blue moon?

That is a very good question.

BIossomtoes · 25/03/2024 19:33

Next blue moon’s in August apparently.

pointythings · 25/03/2024 19:34

It's always interesting to have data, but speaking for myself I am suspicious of anyone who doesn't mention the government of the past 14 years as a contributing factor to the state the UK is in.

Oh I see. So it’s my fault people weren’t respectful? Right.

Time for tea and cake.

Well, the last Labour government did some excellent things @Absym And some awful things. If Labour get 10 years in office (two terms would be 10 years not eight) they might be able to make some improvements.

Edited

They really couldn’t be any worse, could they?

pointythings · 25/03/2024 19:13

It really isn't, but if you're a big fan of our government you're going to have to tell us why.

I am a big fan of the government.
Each morning I wake up I wonnder if I am any good at my job, then up pops Rishi to remind me i am not as shit at mine as he is at his.

pointythings · 25/03/2024 19:51

I'm not sure where we weren't respectful to @Absym.

itsgettingweird · 25/03/2024 20:13

Cost of Truss crisis 😂😂 brilliant

In other news both ds and I received out polling cards today. His first time of voting, he response "oh good. That's 1 less vote for Braverman"

tobee · 25/03/2024 20:18

There's been many speculating many a time as to whether the Tories or Labour Party will end up with such a pasting at a GE that they are obliterated.

If I had to predict any of the current parties I'd choose Reform. They have a history of renaming themselves after all. Or they'll just become absorbed into the next iteration of the current Tory party.

AdamRyan · 25/03/2024 20:37

Cost of Truss crisis! 😂you are a genius 👏

Oh dear. I suggest you stay away from AIBU and FWR then 😂

Welcome to the thread, nice to see new posters on here Brew

That's not a pickle. It's a death spiral and it's hilarious to watch.Grin

Does PM Sunak really believe he can turn it around or does he know he's lying?

That article seems to me to be a strong argument for bringing back Boris.

In fact we could make a slogan

Build back Boriser.

Zonder · 25/03/2024 21:30

Build back Boriser just made me spit my wine out!

IClaudine · 25/03/2024 21:30

Don't even joke about it.

newnamethanks · 25/03/2024 21:40

Bring Back Brexiter Boris. Party all the way to the inevitable pyre 🍾 🍾 🍾. Looking forward to a Bonfire of the Vanities as they exit.

Morning. Loving following these threads as it means I don’t have to subject myself to The News. Have about as much faith in The Plan as I do in anything else requiring faith. Feeling pressured to post a cat pic though, especially as they’re all so cute. So here is Wilson. He is the King of the House.

Late to the new thread but also want to give thanks to the regular posters who keep me up to date and informed.

Am liking "Two-bed" Wilson's style (is his other name Harold?) He's definitely giving "Two-Jags Prescott" vibes 😄

I’ve got a ticket to see a live performance of that at the cinema. He’d be appalled, wouldn’t he?

I’ve got a ticket to see an actual live performance at the millennium theatre. Excited.

At least the farmers are now admitting Brexit is a big part of why they are still not seeing any changes and farming is increasingly unsustainable despite largely voting for Leave and putting advertisements in their fields so they are now pointing guns in the direction of Parliament rather than at the locals not being able to afford their farm shop goods. Although of course in the Tory's eyes it was the "will of the people" to desecrate the farmers and increase cheap imports...ditto to all of the overseas doctors and nurses having to leave then telling the ones left how much better the system in Spain/Aus/Canada take your pick of country are. Interesting they are focusing on it being a Conservative Brexit though as I don't remember any advertisements in fields to vote Labour in the aftermath.

L1ttledrummergirl · 26/03/2024 08:08

I wish people would stop blaming Brexit for our problems.
When people voted, they didn't know what they were voting for, all they had to go on were the promises being made. Promises that weren't followed through.

The problems gave been caused by the conservatives mismanagement of Brexit. The blame lies with them, and only them, not the event itself. We need to stop deflecting from them.
