She’s completely lost the plot - poor woman. I feel very sorry for her daughters, it must be awful living in a state of perpetual embarrassment.

I was listening to an episode of Cautionary Tales by Tim Harford. Talking about the Torrey Canyon disaster.

The basic cause was plan continuation bias. Sticking to a plan no matter what. Even when you there are warning signs saying it's heading for disaster.

Sometimes it's good to change your mind when there are warning signs ahead.

The thing is - he has kept saying that he will stick to the plan that he can't say "Actually, we need to change the plan" because he has said that he will stick to the plan so many times.

So, in other words, targeting the most sick and disabled.

It is my DH as well @pointythings . He is 62 and a wheelchair user. He doesn't work now as too disabled. I am his FT carer.

I feel like we are now looked on as parasites, despite the fact that we both paid into the system for decades.

Sorry for those who are affected by the Tory war on disability benefits. Even if they never come to fruition the stress people are put through is unacceptable

So the plan is to PIP to high claimers.

Now if the plan was to reform NHS services so those who are disabled through illness that's not diagnosed or/ and treated or to provide MH services and therapy so those unable to manage because of severe untreated and unsupported MH difficulties I'd be on board.

But it isn't. It's about making claiming harder. Which worries me because it leaves my ds with a genetic neuromuscular degenerative disorder and autism vulnerable. There's things he will never be able to do because his body just doesn't work the way ours does - he also works.

I have no issue with proper reform - I have issue with the "we will cut them and leave those people unsupported" approach

My cat is judging it. Hard.

It really is, which is why it winds me up when politicians get grief for ‘U turns’ when the ‘U turn’ is based on new information.
