I love a fish finger sandwich, in a white bread bap 🙌🏻

Not sorry.

You?

I won't give any of the things I like up.

Itscatsallthewaydown · 21/03/2024 18:33

UPF is just another grift to make people feel guilty about what they eat

Luckydog7 · 21/03/2024 18:33

Cadbury chocolate
Chocolate biscuits
Ketchup
Cheap supermarket icecream

Caferouge · 21/03/2024 18:34

Pringles

Luckydog7 · 21/03/2024 18:34

Oh. Crunchy nut cornflakes too. Lived off then after ds was born. Sadly don't buy them much as they last about a day in this house.

VanGoghsDog · 21/03/2024 18:35

All of it.

🤣🤣🤣

Ultra-processed foods are indeed one big grift, yeah.

Yeo. Just another thing for the neurotic middle class to obsess over, just for them to convince themselves they’ll live forever.

BaronessBomburst · 21/03/2024 18:38

Butter and ketchup, or plastic cheese and gherkins in the sandwich OP?

TheChosenTwo · 21/03/2024 18:38

Cadburys caramel eggs - thankfully only around at Easter!

therealcookiemonster · 21/03/2024 18:39

I love many UPFs. walkers paprika max, snickers, diet sprite, fish fingers, beyond beef burgers, Greg's vegan sausage rolls.... the list goes on

have some occasionally either because just can't avoid it (eg. condiments) or as treats

but have serious health issues so other than few items here and there (I had supermarket steamed dimsum, dijon mustard and corn tortilla today for example - not together obv lol), I try to avoid it. it's pretty hard though

Theglow · 21/03/2024 18:40

I won’t be giving any that I like up! There’s a whole host I enjoy.

PrincessHoneysuckle · 21/03/2024 18:40

Mcdonalds.
Have around 1-2 times a month

Desdemona44 · 21/03/2024 18:41

Cheesestrings

Elsewhere123 · 21/03/2024 18:41

Helmans mayonnaise, remember my first taste, that's not salad cream I thought. Middle class aspirations began.

SushiSheep · 21/03/2024 18:42

@Luckydog7 Crunchy nut cornflakes with ice cold milk was my pregnancy craving with DC3!

@BaronessBomburst a splodge of tartar sauce, yes to lurid orange plastic cheese and a few bits of iceberg lettuce to try and kid myself it’s healthy! 🤣

You’re lucky someone is speaking up even if you don’t see it. Food safety requires people to push for it.

ViciousCurrentBun · 21/03/2024 18:44

Tinned hot dog saveloys, we only have them on Halloween and Bonfire night, maybe one or two other times but those two days always.

Yeah, ok. I’ll crack on with this bag of Revels then. At least I’ll be dead before dementia/the oil runs out/wars over resources/Russia or China start the next war.
Enjoy sitting in a cave eating your cold lentils.

EmilyPlay · 21/03/2024 18:47

I don't secretly love any food. I'm quite open about my love of all UPF

EmmaStone · 21/03/2024 18:47

Coke
Cadburys

I've cut back since Jan but it's very challenging trying to completely cut it out. Although I had a day last week when I ate badly and it made me feel horrendous - sluggish, a bit headachy, which would never have happened previously, so I must be making some kind of difference.

Nothing to do with living forever, but living a life where we are as healthy and as physically comfortable as possible. But we have had this shit sold to us for so long that we probably think how we feel with these food-like products in our diet is normal, even that the food is normal. They aren't. And there is nothing good about them.

And, to be clear, I don't think there is anything wrong with cakes or biscuits or whatever it is, but not the ultra-processed versions.

Squirrelsnut · 21/03/2024 18:48

Ready salted crisps.

Floopani · 21/03/2024 18:49

Chicken supernoodles and a can of coke make me so happy. Not a secret though!

Pigeonqueen · 21/03/2024 18:50

Fed up with hearing about UPFs - utterly pointless worrying about any of it when we live in a society surrounded by car fumes and all sorts of chemicals. I won’t give up anything I enjoy.
